MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (March 24, 2011)—The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

DRUG ARREST: On Friday, March 18, 2011 at 5:04 p.m., TFC N. E. Gresko initiated a traffic stop on a Chrysler passenger vehicle in the area of Maryland Route 235 and St. John's Road for a traffic violation. Upon approaching the vehicle, TFC Gresko made contact with the driver, Stephen Aaron Huffman, 20, of Mechanicsville, and the passenger, Devin Clay Caldwell, 18, of Hollywood. While speaking with the occupants, TFC Gresko detected the odor of burnt marijuana emitting from the vehicle. A probable cause search of the vehicle was performed revealing CDS on Mr. Caldwell's person and in the vehicle. Both Subjects were subsequently arrested for Possession of CDS and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. Both subjects were held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

DRUG ARREST: On Friday, March 18, 2011 at 9:20 p.m., TFC E. J. Page conducted a traffic stop in the area of Loveville Road and Old Red Oak Lane on a Chevy Malibu. Upon making contact with the operator, TFC Page detected the odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. A probable cause search was performed revealing CDS in the center console of the vehicle. Clarence Vincent Nelson, Jr., 28, of Mechanicsville, was subsequently arrested for Possession of CDS - Marijuana and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. Mr. Nelson was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at 1:00 a.m., Tpr. J. C. Hardesty served a Bench Warrant on Lisa Marie Tippett, 45, of Lexington Park. The warrant was issued for Ms. Tippett on March 11, 2011 by the District Court of St. Mary's County. The original charge was Disorderly Conduct and Possession of CDS Paraphernalia. Ms. Tippett was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at 10:15 p.m., Tpr. S. M. Ditoto served an Arrest Warrant (T3-14735) on Jason Williams Wiley, 23, of Ridge. The warrant was issued for Mr. Wiley's arrest on January 4, 2011 by the District Court of St. Mary's County. The original charge was Credit Card theft. Mr. Wiley was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Thursday, March 24, 2011 at 10:10 a.m., TFC M. B. Adams served a Bench Warrant (T3-14850) on Eric R. Holt, 41, of Mechanicsville. The warrant was issued on March 17, 2011 by the District Court of St. Mary's County. The original charge was Driving While Impaired by Alcohol. Mr. Holt was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center for service and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
