Drug Arrest in St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (February 23, 2011)—The St. Mary's County Bureau of Criminal Investigations (BCI) Narcotics Division today released the following arrest report.

MARIJUANA DISTRIBUTION: Vice narcotics detectives received information into the possible distribution of marijuana at a Leonardtown shopping center. As the investigation continued, David Thomas Herzog, 20 of California, emerged as a suspect. Suspect Herzog was observed in the Leonardtown area conducting drug activities. He was stopped by detectives; marijuana as well as nearly $1,400 was seized. A search and seizure warrant was executed on his California home where additional items were recovered. Suspect Herzog's 2007 Dodge was also seized. Additional charges are pending a review with State's Attorney. The investigation continues.

The BCI Narcotics Division is an investigative team comprised of detectives from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office, Maryland State Police Drug Enforcement Division, and Federal Drug Agents (HIDTA Group 34). The Division was established on September 1st, 2007 and is based in St. Mary’s County.
