MSP Reports for Calvert County


PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (January 19, 2011)—The Prince Frederick Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On January 14 at 11:05 a.m., Trooper First Class Evans stopped a vehicle for traffic violations on Church Street at Gray Inn Court in Prince Frederick. During the stop, a passenger, Howard G. Emerson, 3rd, 19 of Prince Frederick, was found to be in possession of marijuana. He was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana. He was incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

THEFT: On January 14 at 12:46 p.m., Trooper First Class Gill responded to a residence on Appeal Lane in Lusby for a report of a theft. The victim had several gift cards stolen from her purse however, she does not know when or where they were stolen. Investigation continues.

THEFT: On January 14 at 3:45 p.m., Trooper First Class Merkelson responded to a residence on Main Street in Huntingtown for a reported theft. A blue Yamaha scooter was stolen from the front porch of a residence. Investigation continues.

FIRST DEGREE ASSAULT: On January 15 at 3:00 a.m., Trooper Williams responded to the 12600 block of Olivet Road in Lusby for a reported assault. Investigation revealed that Robert L. Wedding, 21 of Lusby, became involved in a fight inside the residence and attempted to assault the victim with a knife. Wedding was arrested and charged with First Degree Assault, Second Degree Assault and Reckless Endangerment. He was incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On January 15 at 3:21 p.m., Trooper First Class Lewis stopped a vehicle for traffic violations on Rt. 4 at Plum Point Road. The driver, Justin R. Hawkins, 20 of Chesapeake Beach, and the passenger, Rex T. Plant, Jr., 21 of Dunkirk, were found to be in possession of marijuana and paraphernalia. They were incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA, CONCEALED WEAPON: On January 16 at 8:48 a.m., Trooper First Class Lewis stopped a vehicle for traffic violations on Route 4 at Robshire Manor Road. During the stop, the driver, Antonio A. Grant, 37 of Lexington Park, was found to be in possession of marijuana. A search of the vehicle revealed a stun gun hidden in an armrest. He was incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

CONCEALED DEADLY WEAPON: On January 16 at 10:57 p.m., Trooper First Class Wiersma contacted a subject acting suspiciously in the area of Barreda Blvd and Rousby Hall Road. During contact with the subject, the Trooper discovered that a knife was concealed in his waistband. Christopher M. Schofield, 21 of Lusby, was incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.
