Calvert County Sheriff's Reports


PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (January 5, 2011)—The Calvert County Sheriff's Office recently released the following incident and arrest reports.

WEEKLY SUMMARY: During the week of December 13 through December 19, 2010, deputies responded to 1,680 calls for service throughout the community.

DRUG ARREST: On December 16 at 12:15 a.m. DFC K. Hall conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at Md. Rt. 260 westbound and Limerick lane in Chesapeake beach. He found the driver, later identified as Captain Charley America, 46 of Alexandria, VA to be in possession of suspected drugs. He was arrested and charged with possession of Phencyclidine, possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia, a metal smoking pipe, and possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia, a metal spoon.

THEFT OF MOTOR VEHICLE: Sometime between 11:00 p.m. on December 15 and 6:00 a.m. on December 16, unknown suspect(s) stole a teal colored Chevrolet Astro minivan valued at $4000 from the driveway of a home on Dayton Ave in North Beach. DFC A. Woodford is investigating.

BURGLARY: DFC K. Hall is investigating a burglary that occurred at a residence on Bayside Road in Chesapeake Beach between noon and 7:30 p.m. on December 16. Jewelry and cash totaling over $800 was taken. Anyone with information is asked to contact DFC Hall at 410-535-2800.

THEFT: Unknown suspect(s) broke into a car hauler trailer located at a private residence on Lloyd Bowen Road in St. Leonard overnight between December 16 and 17. The culprit(s) stole copper wiring valued at $500. DFC C. Johnson is continuing the investigation.

BURGLARY: Five cottages on Carpenter's Beach Road in Huntingtown were burglarized sometime between December 11 and 18. The owner advised DFC J. Norton that a small television was stolen from one of the cottages. Anyone with information is asked to contact DFC Norton at 410-535-2800.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: A barn behind a home on Rousby Hall Road in Lusby was vandalized between December 16 and 19. The unknown suspect(s) caused $250 in damage when they spray painted the interior walls and broke a window and other items. DFC J. Norton is investigating.

THEFT: DFC W. Wells is investigating the theft of fuse box relays from a vehicle on Susan Lane in Lusby that occurred sometime between December 15 and 19. The relays are valued at $50.
