MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (November 30, 2010)—The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) recently released the following incident and arrest reports.

ASSAULT 2ND DEGREE: On Sunday, November 21, at 2:09 p.m., TFC G. A. Thompson responded to the 45000 block of Indian Way in Lexington Park for a reported disturbance. Upon arrival, contact was made with a female complainant, 24, of Lexington Park, who advised she was involved in an altercation with a male subject. Information provided by the complainant resulted in TFC Thompson attempting to locate Joseph Francis Chase, 3rd, 37, of Lexington Park. However, all attempts were unsuccessful. Mr. Chase turned himself into the Leonardtown Barrack at 4:00 p.m. on November 21 and was placed under arrest for Second Degree Assault. Mr. Chase was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

DRUG ARREST: On Tuesday, November 23, at 8:41 p.m., TFC K. D. Lashley responded to the McKay's Pharmacy in the 37000 block of Mohawk Drive in Charlotte Hall for a report of a subject attempting to fill a fraudulent prescription. Upon arrival, contact was made with Mandy Lynn Brown, 31, of Mechanicsville, who was determined to be the subject attempting to fill the prescription. Additionally, contact was made with a male complainant, 61, of California, who advised he confirmed with the issuing physician that the prescription was fraudulent. Ms. Brown was informed of the complaint and placed under arrest for prescription fraud. A search incident to arrest revealed Oxycodone, not prescribed to Ms. Brown. Ms. Brown was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Wednesday, November 24, at 4:20 a.m., TFC M. Davis served a Circuit Court warrant (T3-14684) on Joseph D. Mundo, 59, of Mechanicsville. The warrant was issued on November 22 by the Circuit Court of St. Mary's County with an original charge of Illegal Possession of Regulated Firearm. Mr. Mundo was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Friday, November 26, at 9:45 a.m., TFC J. A. Pilkerton served an arrest warrant (T3-13641) on Malcom Jeffery Lowery, 40, of Washington, D.C. The warrant was issued by the District Court of St. Mary's County on October 11, 2008 with an original charge of Motor Vehicle / Unlawful Taking. Mr. Lowery was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

THEFT UNDER $1000: On Saturday, November 27, at 1:44 p.m., Tpr. B. T. Wiesemann responded to the 21000 block of North Shangri La Drive in Lexington Park for a reported theft from vehicle. Information disseminated by the Emergency Communications Center included a description of two male subjects and information that a paint sprayer had been stolen from a work van. Upon arrival, two subjects were located matching the description provided. Information provided by witnesses as well as a positive identification of the item by its owner resulted in the arrest of Richard Larry Bassford, 36, of Hollywood, and Keith Randall Nelson, 36, of Avenue. Both subjects were transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner. The property was returned to its rightful owner.
