MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (October 18, 2010)—The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

THEFT UNDER $100: On Sunday, October 10 at 9:59pm, TFC G. A. Thompson responded to the Wal-Mart on Miramar Way in California for a reported shoplifter in custody. Upon arrival, contact was made with loss prevention staff, which advised a male subject, later identified as Raymond Michael Shorts, 20, of Lexington Park, was observed placing items in a bag and attempting to exit the retail establishment without purchasing them. Mr. Shorts was detained upon trying to exit the store. Merchandise was recovered and returned to the Wal-Mart. Mr. Shorts was transported to St. Mary's County Detention Center and charged with Theft Under $100.00. He was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

DRUG ARREST: On Tuesday, October 12 at 8:37pm, TFC M. R. Grimes, initiated a traffic stop on blue Chevrolet truck in the area of Indian Bridge Road and Long Bow Drive for a traffic violation. Upon making contact with the operator of the vehicle, Wesley Paul Peterson, 22, of Valley Lee, TFC Grimes detected the odor of burnt marijuana emitting from the vehicle. A probable cause search of the vehicle revealed CDS and CDS Paraphernalia in the vehicle. Mr. Peterson was arrested for Possession of CDS and CDS Paraphernalia and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. He was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Thursday, October 14 at 12:00pm, Lawrence Richard Beuchert, 39, of an Unknown Address, was arrested by Tpr. S. M. Ditoto and served on an arrest warrant (T3-14580) issued by the District Court of St. Mary's County. The warrant was issued on September 14 with an original charge of Obtaining CDS by Fraud / Altering a Prescription and Passing Forged Documents. Mr. Beuchert was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Thursday, October 14 at 2:15pm, TFC C. M. Evans served a bench warrant (T3-14500) on James Joseph Ickes, III, 23, of Lexington Park. The warrant was issued by the District Court of St. Mary's County on July 6 with an original charge of Theft Less Than $1000.00 Value. Mr. Ickes was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Friday, October 15 at 11:45pm, TFC N. E. Gresko served a bench warrant (T3-14627) on Jerry A. Stone, Sr., 41, of Hollywood. The warrant was issued on October 12 by the District Court of St. Mary's County with an original charge of Driving Without Required License. Mr. Stone was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Sunday, October 17 at 3:05am, Kenneth Randall Nelson, 36, of Leonardtown, was arrested by TFC N.E. Gresko, and served on a bench warrant (T3-14587) issued by the District Court of St. Mary's County. The warrant was issued with an original charge of Theft Less Than $100.00 on September 17. Mr. Nelson was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Sunday, October 17 at 11:45pm, TFC N. E. Gresko arrested Carolynn Louise Ritter, 57, of Hollywood, on an outstanding warrant issued by the District Court of St. Mary's County. The bench warrant (T3-14625) was issued on October 12 with an original charge of Driving Without the Required License. Ms. Ritter was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
