Charles County High Schools Plan for Fall Theatre Productions


LA PLATA, Md. (October 16, 2010)—Student actors in Charles County’s six public high schools are preparing for fall plays, which begin next month.

La Plata High School will present “And A Child Shall Lead,” on Nov. 4-6, 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for students and $4 for thespians. Charles County Public Schools staff is admitted free with their identification badge. Call 301-934-1100 for more information.

Maurice J. McDonough High School students are presenting Lewis Carroll’s “Alice in Wonderland,” Nov. 12-14. Performance times are 7 p.m., Nov. 12-13, and 2 p.m., Nov. 13-14. Ticket prices are $10 for adults, $8 for students, and $7 for thespians and children. Discounted and advance tickets can be purchased online at www.mcdonoughdrama.com. Henry E. Lackey High School students are presenting “Auschwitz Lullaby,” on Nov. 19-20 at 7 p.m., and Nov. 21 at 2 p.m. The performance is intended for audiences over the age of 12. Ticket prices are $8 for adults, $7 for senior citizens and military members, and $6 for thespians. School system employees can receive two tickets by providing their staff identification badge.

Students at Thomas Stone High School are presenting D.W. Gregory’s “Radium Girls,” the weekend of Nov. 18-20. Performance time for all three dates is 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $7 for adults, and $5 for students and senior citizens. Thespians receive a $1 ticket discount. School system employees can receive two tickets by providing their staff identification badge. Tickets will be sold at the door 30 minutes prior to the start of each show.
