Gas Leak at Calvert High School Results in Evacuation


PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (July 20, 2010)—A gas leak at Calvert High School Tuesday morning around 9:00 a.m. resulted in an evacuation of the facility. Summer school students were moved to Calvert Middle School by bus.

At approximately 10:45 a.m., emergency workers and hazardous materials crews determined that the campus was safe to re-open.

Summer school is scheduled to remain at Calvert Middle School for the rest of the day. Students with vehicles at CHS will be transported by bus to their vehicles when their summer school day is over.
