MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (July 1, 2010) - The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

DRUG ARREST: On Friday, June 25 at 7:52 pm, TFC C. M. Evans initiated a traffic stop in the area of Maryland Route 249 and Stark Drive in Piney Point. The stop was initiated on a Blue Toyota Four Runner observed in violation of a traffic law. Upon making contact with the male driver and passenger, TFC Evans detected the strong odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. A probable cause search resulted in the arrest of a 16 year old male of Falls Church, Virginia and a 17-year-old male of Falls Church, Virginia for Possession of Marijuana. Both juveniles were arrested and transported to the Leonardtown Barrack prior to being released to a parent pending further action by Juvenile Services.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Monday, June 28 at 1:35 am, Tpr. R. L. Jackson arrested Stephen Gore Uhler, II, 20, of Hollywood on an arrest warrant (T3-14490) issued by the District Court of Calvert County on June 16. The original charge was Second Degree Assault and Electronic Mail Harassment. Mr. Uhler was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and will be held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

THEFT: On Monday, June 28 at 7:10 am, TFC C. M. Evans responded to the area of Lakeland Drive in Mechanicsville for reports of multiple thefts from vehicles. Upon arrival, contact was made with numerous complainants whom all advised that during the evening between 8:00 pm on June 27 and 6:00 am on June 28 unknown suspects stole items from vehicles in the area. This investigation is ongoing. Any information pertaining to the case may be forwarded to the Maryland State Police Leonardtown Barrack.

ASSAULT 2ND DEGREE: On Monday, June 28 at 7:42 pm, TFC J. S. Gibson responded to 20000 block of Treetop Road in Lexington Park for a reported disturbance. Upon arrival, contact was made with a male complainant, 26, of Lexington Park who advised he was involved in an altercaltion with Charles Vaselee Freeman, Sr., 50, of Lexington Park. Following interviews with the suspect and complainant, Mr. Freeman was arrested for Second Degree Assault and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. Mr. Freeman will be held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

THEFT: On Tuesday, June 29 at 5:12 pm, TFC J. S. Gibson responded to the Jumpin' Jack's Restaurant in the 26000 block of Three Notch Road in Mechanicsville for a reported theft. Upon arrival, contact was made with a male complainant, 54, of Lusby, who advised between the evening on June 28 and the afternoon hours of June 29 unknown suspects had removed a five-foot hot dog from an advertisement at the establishment. This investigation in ongoing. Any information pertaining to the case may be forwarded to the Maryland State Police Leonardtown Barrack.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Tuesday, June 29 at 8:20 pm, TFC J. S. Gibson arrested Antonio O. Harris, 20, of Saint Leonard, on a bench warrant (T3-14482) issued by the District Court of St. Mary's County. The warrant was issued on June 17 with an original charge of CDS Possession. Mr. Harris was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and will be held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
