MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (June 24, 2010) - The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

FALSE STATEMENT TO A POLICE OFFICER: On Sunday, June 20 at 6:31 pm, Tpr. E. J. Page conducted a traffic stop on a gray Hyundai Sonata in the area of Maryland Route 245 and Morgan Road for a traffic violation. Upon identifying the driver of the vehicle, Tpr Page attempted to verify the identification of the passenger. The passenger provided Tpr. Page with a name and date of birth that was later determined to be another person. Arrested for False Statement to a Police Officer and Fraud was Joseph Desalle Thomas, 46, of St. Mary's County. Mr. Thomas was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center were his identity was confirmed. He will be held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT: On Monday, June 21 at 5:09 pm, Cpl. S. Koch responded to the 45000 block of Miramar Way in California for a reported Disturbance. Upon arrival, Cpl. Koch made contact with the female complainant who advised a female was detained in the electronics section of the Wal-Mart following a disturbance where she chased other patrons through the retail store. The female suspect, later identified as Deborah Lynn Jerdon, 42, of California refused to provide identification and vacate the premises when asked to do so by Cpl. Koch. Ms. Jerdon was arrested for Disorderly Conduct and Trespassing. She was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and will be held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

DRUG ARREST: On Tuesday, June 22 at 2:35 am, Tpr. E. R. Mersman while on patrol in the area of Kavanaugh Road in Mechanicsville observed a suspicious vehicle surrounded by multiple individuals. Upon making contact and identifying all subjects, a NCIC check revealed that James Edward Young, 46, of Avenue had an outstanding warrant. A search incident to arrest revealed CDS and CDS Paraphernalia on Mr. Young's person. Mr. Young was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and will be held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE : On Tuesday, June 22 at 2:05 pm, TFC C. M. Evans served a Bench Warrant (T3-14335) on Terry Dean Seitz, 64, of Hollywood. The warrant was issued by the District Court of St. Mary's County on March 2 for Driving Under the Influence. Mr. Seitz was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and will be held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
