Calvert County Sheriff's Reports


PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (June 21, 2010) - The Calvert County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.

WEEKLY SUMMARY: During the week of June 14 through June 20, deputies of the Calvert County Sheriff's Office responded to 1,871 calls for service throughout the community. Additionally, deputies arrested 14 people and charged them with DWI/DUI during the week.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: Sometime between 1:00 and 6:00 a.m. on June 14 unknown suspect(s) threw a brick into the windshield of a vehicle parked outside a home on Coyote Trail in Lusby causing $300 in damage. DFC J. Harms is investigating.

DOP AND THEFT: Another incident of the same type occurred on Sitting Bull Trail the following morning, June 15. A rock was thrown through the passenger window and a purse was stolen. Damage is estimated at $600 and the purse and contents are valued at $286. DFC Harms is also handling this investigation.

BURGLARY: Sometime between 8:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. on June 16, unknown suspect(s) burglarized a home on Harbor Road in Chesapeake Beach and stole a Playstation 3 video game system and controllers valued at $600. DFC A. Woodford is investigating.

THEFT FROM VEHICLE: A Garmin Nuvi GPS worth $150 was stolen out of an unlocked vehicle that was parked outside a home on Beech Drive in Lusby. The theft occurred overnight between June 17 and 18. DFC J. Morgan is investigating.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: Approximately $500 in damage was done when someone spray painted the Chesapeake Beach boardwalk in three different areas overnight between June 17 and 18. DFC A. Woodford is handling the investigation.

CDS VIOLATION: Two people were charged with cds violations after DFC T. Rickard conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on June 18 at 10:28 p.m. on Md. Rt. 261 near the American Legion. The driver of the vehicle, Kaitlyn Elizabeth Lusby, 18 of Chesapeake Beach, was charged with possession with the intent to use drug paraphernalia, a glass pipe. The passenger in the vehicle, Robert Dennis Clark, Jr., 22, also of Chesapeake Beach, was charged with possession of marijuana.

CDS VIOLATION: On June 19 at 1:50 a.m. DFC M. Velasquez charged Shanta Shrie Washington, 33 of Lusby with possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia, a clear baggie containing crack cocaine residue, used to pack a controlled dangerous substance, cocaine. The paraphernalia was discovered after a traffic stop on northbound Md. Rt. 4 in Solomons.

CDS VIOLATION: On June 19 at 3:15 a.m. DFC M. Velasquez conducted a patrol check of the area behind the 7-11 Convenience store in Patuxent Plaza, Solomons. He observed three individuals seated on top of some lumber and detected a strong odor of burning marijuana. Subsequent investigation led to the arrest of Nathaniel Lee Davis, III, 20 of Lusby, for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, a burnt cigar.

CDS VIOLATION: On June 19 at 8:35 p.m. DFC T. Rickard conducted a traffic stop at Md. Rt. 2 and Grover's Turn Road in Owings. The driver, identified as Devon Earl G. Carlisle, 21 and a 16-year-old male passenger, both of Townsend, DE, were found to be in possession of suspected marijuana. Carlisle was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia, a multi-colored glass pipe and black plastic mirror. The juvenile was charged on a youth report of the same offenses and released to a parent.

CDS VIOLATION: After conducting a traffic stop on a vehicle at Md. Rt. 4 northbound near Md. Rt. 260 in Dunkirk on June 20 at 12:57 a.m., DFC T. Rickard subsequently arrested the driver, William Mal Elliott, 39 of Washington, D.C., and charged him with possession of marijuana in sufficient quantity to indicate an intent to distribute and possession of marijuana.

THEFT OF VEHICLE: Sometime between June 16 and 20, someone stole a blue 1996 Oldsmobile Cutlass 4-door vehicle worth $1000 that had been parked in the side parking lot at Beach Cove Restaurant in Chesapeake Beach. Anyone with information is asked to contact DFC Jeff Elliott at 410-535-2800.

THEFT: DFC P. Foote is investigating the theft of a blue 1998/1999 15 HP Evinrude boat motor valued at $2000 that occurred sometime between June 16 and 17. The boat was near a creek behind a home on Old Bayside Road in Chesapeake Beach. Several other items including a red plastic 6-gallon gas tank, two wooden oars, a marine battery, and a sump pump, all together valued at $265, were stolen.

BURGLARY: A home on Golden West Way in Lusby was burglarized between June 18 and 20. Money stolen and damage to the home total $520. Anyone with information is asked to contact Dep. C. Johnson.
