MSP Reports for Calvert County


PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (June 15, 2010) - The Prince Frederick Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

WARRANT SWEEP: On June 11, troopers from the Prince Frederick Barrack conducted a warrant sweep in Calvert County. Numerous older warrants that were un-served because the defendants were unable to be located, were distributed to a group of 12 troopers who spent the day searching for information and following leads. As a result, seven people were arrested and warrants served.

CONCEALED DANGEROUS WEAPON: On June 5 at 1:54 p.m., Trooper First Class Gill stopped a vehicle for traffic violations on Route 4 at Old Field Lane in Prince Frederick. During the traffic stop, two knives were located. Warren M. Herring Jr., 19 of Prince Frederick, was arrested and incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On June 8 at 1:08 a.m., Trooper Logsdon stopped a vehicle for traffic violations on Rousby Hall Rd at HG Trueman Road in Lusby. A passenger in the vehicle, John L. Draper 3rd, 18 of Lusby, was found to be in possession of marijuana. He was arrested and incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On June 8 at 11:25 p.m., Trooper Logsdon stopped a vehicle for traffic violations on Route 4 at Chaneyville Road in Owings. The driver, Matthew R. Newton, 19 of Owings, was found to be in possession of marijuana. He was arrested and incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

BURGLARY: On June 9 at 2:30 p.m., Trooper First Class Hunt responded to the 300 block of Stoakley Road in Prince Frederick for a reported burglary. The victim's house was broken into. Two televisions, a laptop computer and jewelry were removed from the residence. Investigation continues.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: On June 12 at 1:30 a.m., Trooper Thompson responded to the 500 block of Fairground Road in Prince Frederick for a reported destruction of property. Rocks were thrown at the victim's house and vehicle. The vehicle's windshield was cracked during the incident. Investigation continues.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On June 9 at 8:33 p.m., Trooper Wyer stopped a vehicle for traffic violations on HG Trueman Road at the Lusby Post Office. A passenger was found to be in possession of marijuana. A 16-year-old from Lusby was arrested.

ATTEMPTED BURGLARY: On June 13 at 9:15 a.m., Trooper First Class Donaldson responded to the 6400 block of 2nd Street in Randle Cliffs for a reported burglary. A fence gate and a window were damaged. Investigation continues.
