LEONARDTOWN, Md. (May 13, 2010) - The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest report.
FIRST DEGREE ASSAULT: On May 12, Deputy Bowen responded to a residence on Norris Street in Leonardtown, Maryland for a report of an assault. Investigation revealed Coretta Pamela Thompson, 28 of Leonardtown, was involved in a verbal dispute with the victim which escalated into a physical assault when Thompson grabbed a kitchen knife and swung it several times at the victim. The victim was able to defend himself against the assault and remove the knife from Thompson; however, he received two minor lacerations as a result of the assault. Thompson was arrested and charged with first degree assault.
