LA PLATA, Md. (April 7, 2010) - The La Plata Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest report.
DRUG ARREST: On April 6, at approximately 2226 hours, TFC J. Edelen was traveling eastbound on route 5 in the area of Gough Drive when he observed a silver Mazda pulled off Gough Drive and stopped partially in the left turn lane. Contact was made with the driver, Ryan Christopher Owens, 34, of Waldorf. While TFC Edelen spoke with Owens, he appeared to be incoherent. Trooper T. Zinn arrived at the scene to assist TFC Edelen. A K-9 scan of the vehicle was conducted with a positive alert. Owens was arrested and charged with unlawfully remove label on a prescription drug as required by law; did unlawfully possess a prescription drug, Oxycodone in sufficient quantity to indicate an intent to distribute said drug; did possess a controlled dangerous substance and paraphernalia.
