OWINGS, Md. (March 23, 2010)—Mrs. Toni Hoover, of Owings, scored herself a white Mercedes Benz SLK convertible as a result of buying a raffle ticket. One thousand raffle tickets were sold for $20 each, raising $20,000 for the United Way of Calvert County.

The vehicle was donated by Family Auto Mercedes BMW in Owings. Since the car was donated in full, 100% of the raffle proceeds benefitted the United Way.

The winning raffle ticket was drawn by Family Mercedes BMW co-owners Dwayne and Wendy Crawford during the 10th Anniversary Mardi Gras Gala held Saturday night, March 13th.

"We would like to congratulate Mrs. Hoover and thank all the generous clients and supporters who purchased raffle tickets and made this large donation possible," noted Dwayne and Wendy Crawford.

The Mardi Gras Gala overall raised a record $200,000 for the United Way of Calvert County.
