MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (Jan. 28, 2010) - The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Tuesday, January 19 at 8:51 am, Crystal Lea Meredith, 22, of Great Mills was arrested by TFC M. A. Moore on a Bench Warrant (T314265) issued by the District Court in Leonardtown on January 6. The original charge was Driving Uninsured Motor Vehicle. Ms. Meredith was taken into custody at her residence in Great Mills and was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where she was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

DRUG ARREST: On Thursday, January 21 at 12:27 am, Donald Leon Pace, Jr., 22, of California was arrested by TFC J. A. Pilkerton for Possession of Marijuana and a CDS Paraphernalia. Mr. Pace was operating a white Chevrolet Silverado on Mechanicsville Road when he was stopped in the area of Gander Court in Mechanicsville for exceeding the posted speed limit. When contact was made with the operator, Mr. Pace, an odor of burnt Marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. A CDS smoking device was found in Mr. Pace's possession. He was issued a Criminal Citation and released at the scene.

THEFT UNDER $1,000: On Thursday, January 21 at 4:38 pm, Tpr. E. J. Page responded to BAE Systems at 22810 Three Notch Road in California for the reported Theft under $1,000.00. Upon arrival, contact was made with the female complainant, 24, of Mechanicsville who advised unknown suspect(s) cut and removed the catalytic converter from her red Toyota Tacoma. No other vehicles were tampered with in the parking lot. The investigation continues.

DRUG ARREST: On Friday, January 22 at 12:22 am, Christopher Michael Kemp, 27, of Leonardtown was arrested by TFC J. A. Pilkerton for Possession of Marijuana, CDS-Not Marijuana and CDS Paraphernalia. TFC Pilkerton and TFC Stern responded to the 22000 block of Downs Circle in Leonardtown in an attempt to serve a Circuit Court Warrant (T3-14284). The original charge was Possession of Marijuana. Upon arrival at his residence in Leonardtown, Mr. Kemp was taken into custody. While speaking with Mr. Kemp, TFC Pilkerton observed in plain view a baggie of Marijuana and prescription medications (Suboxone) not prescribed to him. Mr. Kemp was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Friday, January 22 at 2:15 am, Allan Michael Joy, 19, of Mechanicsville was arrested by TFC J. A. Pilkerton on a Bench Warrant (T3-14258) for Failing to Pay Deferred Payment of $100.00 by October 1, 2009. Mr. Joy was ordered by the Court to pay $100.00 fine prior to October 1, 2009 which Mr. Joy has failed to do. Mr. Joy was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Friday, January 22 at 10:10 am, Johnny Robert Toles, III, 26, of Forestville was arrested by TFC R. B. Rezza on an outstanding Arrest Warrant (T3-13416) issued by the District Court in Leonardtown on May 22, 2008. The original charge on the warrant was Motor Vehicle Theft. Mr. Toles turned himself in at the Leonardtown Barracks and was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Friday, January 22 at 11:19 am, Natalie Amber Vickers, 28, of Mechanicsville was arrested by TFC D. S. Brill on a Bench Warrant (T3-14290) issued by the District Court on January 22. Ms. Vickers failed to appear in District Court in Leonardtown. The original charges were DWI/DUI. The warrant was served in District Court and she was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where she was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

DRUG ARREST: On Friday, January 22 at 5:27 pm, Sarah Elizabeth Gibson, 24, of Mechanicsville was arrested by Tpr. E. J. Page for Possession of Marijuana and CDS Paraphernalia. Ms. Gibson was traveling south bound Three Notch Road when she was stopped at Kimberly Lane in Mechanicsville for exceeding the posted speed limit. Ms. Gibson was found to be in possession of a clear plastic baggie of Marijuana. She was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where she was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

DRUG ARREST: On Saturday, January 23 at 1:40 am, Andrew Desmond Chick, 19, of Mechanicsville and Kevin Wayne Quade, Jr., 19, of Avenue were arrested by TFC J. A. Pilkerton for Possession of Marijuana and CDS Paraphernalia. Mr. Chick and Mr. Quade were passengers in a blue Mercury Mountaineer traveling north bound on All Faith Church Road when they were stopped at Wanda Lane in Mechanicsville for exceeding the posted speed limit. When contact was made with the male operator, a strong odor of burnt Marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. Mr. Chick and Mr. Quade were both found to be in possession of a clear plastic baggie of Marijuana. They were taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where they were held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

THEFT UNDER $100: On Saturday, January 23 at 2:24 pm, Corey Lee Bond, 41, of Mechanicsville was arrested by Tpr. J. C. Hardesty for possession of a stolen Maryland registration sticker. Tpr. Hardesty observed the white Pontiac Grand Prix traveling south bound Point Lookout Road, in the area of St. Andrews Church Road in Leonardtown. The vehicle was stopped for an equipment violation. A routine NCIC and MVA check revealed the Maryland registration sticker 18M520 was stolen and did not belong on the Maryland registration plate that was affixed to the Pontiac. Mr. Bond was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was charged with Theft under $100.00 and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

THEFT UNDER $100: On Sunday, January 24, at 8:10 pm, Donald Joseph Thorpe, 2nd, 42, of Mechanicsville was arrested by Tpr. J. S. Gibson for possession of a stolen Maryland registration sticker. Mr. Thorpe was exceeding the posted speed limit on Mechanicsville Road when he was stopped at Brown Way in Mechanicsville. He was operating a white Toyota Camry. A routine NCIC and MVA check was made which revealed the Maryland registration sticker was reported stolen to the Charles County Sheriff's Office on May 19, 2009. Mr. Thorpe's driving privileges are suspended in Maryland. He was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

BURGLARY: On Sunday, January 24 at 11:51 pm, TFC J. R. Stern responded to Hair Cuts Plus at 21525B Great Mills Road in Lexington Park for the reported Burglar Alarm. Upon arrival, TFC Stern observed the front door was not secured. The interior of the establishment was check and it appeared nothing was stolen. The front door had been kicked in by unknown suspect(s) with an estimated damage to be $50.00. The investigation continues.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Monday, January 25 at 1:30 am, Alfred Johnathan Thomas, 27, of Chaptico was arrested by TFC J. A. Pilkerton on a Bench Warrant (T3-14279) issued by the District Court in Leonardtown on January 13. The original charge was theft under $100.00. Mr. Thomas was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Monday, January 25 at 1:28 pm, Mitchell Lee Kimball, 21, of Leonardtown was arrested by Tpr. J. S. Gibson on a Circuit Court Warrant (T3-14275) for Failing to Appear in Circuit Court in Leonardtown on January 6. The original charge was Possession of Marijuana. Mr. Kimball was taken into custody at a residence in Chaptico and was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Monday, January 25 at 3:00 pm, Vernon Edward Freeland, 42, of Lexington Park was arrested by Tpr. J. S. Gibson on a Bench Warrant (T3-14289) for Failing to Appear in District Court in Leonardtown on January 21. The original charges were Telephone Misuse and Harassment. Mr. Freeland turned himself in at the Leonardtown Barracks and was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Tuesday, January 26 at 9:30 am, Robert Edward Hall, 48, of Mechanicsville was arrested by Tpr. J. S. Gibson on a Circuit Court Warrant issued on January 12. Mr. Hall was served the warrant at the Parole & Probation office in Leonardtown. The original charge was 3rd Degree Sex Offense. Mr. Hall was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held without bond pending his appearance before the court.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Tuesday, January 26 at 5:45 pm, Mikil Andrew Holder, 22, of Great Mills turned himself in at the Leonardtown Barracks. Tpr. M J. Pitcher served the Bench Warrant (T3-14293) issued by the District Court in Leonardtown on January 22. The original charges were DWI/DUI. Mr. Holder was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Tuesday, January 26 at 8:50 pm, Francis Xavier Thomas, Jr., 26, of Mechanicsville was arrested by TFC C. M. Evans on an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-14190) issued by the District Court in Leonardtown on November 6, 2009. The original charge was Failing to Follow Conditions of Probation/Possession of Marijuana. Mr. Thomas was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Wednesday, January 27 at 10:54 am, Patrick James Hutching, 27, of Callaway was arrested by TFC M. B. Adams on an outstanding Arrest Warrant (T3-14226) issued by the District Court in Leonardtown on December 1, 2009. The original charge was Assault 2nd Degree. Mr. Hutching was served at the St. Mary's County Detention Center after being transferred from the Brockridge Correction Facility in Jessup. Mr. Hutching is being held pending his initial appearance before the court.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Wednesday, January 27 at 11:10 am, Paul Anthony Pitner, 25, of Mechanicsville was arrested by Tpr. E. J. Page on an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-14063) for Failing to Follow Conditions of Probation. The original charge was Forgery of Private Documents. Mr. Pitner was served at the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was incarcerated on unrelated charges.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Wednesday, January 27 at 11:17 am, Nicholas Walter Bond, 20, no fixed address was arrested by Tpr. E. J. Page on an outstanding Arrest Warrant (T3-14223) issued by the District Court in Leonardtown on November 30, 2009. Mr. Bond was served the warrant at the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was incarcerated on unrelated charges.
