Calvert County Sheriff's Reports


PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (Jan. 11, 2010) - The Calvert County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.

BURGLARY: A victim on Deforest Drive in Chesapeake Beach advised DFC Kevin Hall that unknown suspect(s) stole a Browning automatic 20 gauge shotgun worth $1000 from his residence sometime between 6:00 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. on January 5. Anyone with information is asked to contact Lt. Steve Jones of C.I.T. at 410-535-2800 ext. 2462.

THEFT FROM VEHICLE: Unknown suspect(s) stole a black Walther .22 caliber pistol valued at $350 from an unlocked vehicle while it was parked outside a home on Buffalo Road in Lusby overnight between January 7 and 8. Dep. Jason Lord is investigating.

THEFT FROM VEHICLE: A Garmin Nuvi 260 GPS system worth $400 was stolen from inside an unlocked vehicle parked outside a home on Bayview Drive in St. Leonard sometime between January 2 and 4. Dep. James Morgan is investigating the theft.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT: On January 9 at 11:57 a.m. Dep. Andre Mitchell responded to the Verizon store at 701 Solomons Island Road in Prince Frederick for a disturbance call. Upon arrival a store employee advised that a customer was yelling profanities and was upset over his phone bill. After repeated orders to stop using profanity, the subject did not stop and was subsequently arrested. Brian Dwayne Via, 40 of Prince Frederick was charged with disorderly conduct.

CDS VIOLATION: DFC Justin Livingston conducted a traffic stop at Md. Rt. 4 and Broomes Island Road on January 9 at 7:20 p.m. He found the driver to be in possession of suspected drugs. He arrested Hannah Mae Jones, 30 of Prince Frederick, and charged her with possession of marijuana and possession of Phencyclidine.

THEFT FROM VEHICLE: Two RCA 7 inch screens to a mobile DVD system worth $250 were stolen from inside an unlocked vehicle outside a home on Dry Creek Court in Lusby between 5:45 p.m. on January 8 and 1:30 p.m. on January 9. Anyone with information is asked to contact DFC Aaron Locke at 410-535-2800.

CDS VIOLATION: After conducting a traffic stop on a vehicle on January 10 at 2:28 a.m. at Duke Street and Merrimac Court in Prince Frederick, Cpl. Richard Wilson arrested the driver after he was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana. Antoine D. Brooks, 20 of Huntingtown, was charged with possession of marijuana and possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia, a Game brand cigar, used to inhale marijuana.

DOP: DFC Carl Fischer is investigating $300 in damage to three tires on two vehicles parked outside a home on 5th Street in North Beach overnight between January 9 and 10. The tires appear to have been cut or slashed. Anyone with information is asked to contact DFC Fischer at 410-535-2800.
