MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (Feb. 2, 2009) - The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

ASSAULT BY EGG: On Tuesday, January 27, 2009 at 4:55 pm, TFC R. Rezza responded to the 23000 block of Colton Point Road in Clements for the reported Assault. Upon arrival, contact was made with the male victim, 22, of Callaway who advised an unknown male assaulted him by throwing an egg at him which struck him in the chest. The suspect fled to the rear of Pilkerton's Service Station. TFC Rezza interviewed employees at Pilkerton's Service Station and obtained enough information to assist in identifying the 15 year-old male juvenile of Clements. On Thursday, January 29, 2009, the juvenile was interviewed at his residence with his father. The juvenile was taken into custody at the Leonardtown Barrack where he was processed and charged with Assault 2nd Degree and Disorderly Conduct. He was released to his father pending further action by Juvenile Services.

TRUE BILL INDICTMENT, POSSESSION: On Friday, January 30, 2009 at 5:12 am, TFC L. Nims and Tpr. G. Thompson responded to the 22000 block of Downs Circle in Leonardtown in an attempt to locate Christopher Michael Kemp, 26, of Leonardtown. TFC Nims held an outstanding Circuit Court Grand Jury Indictment (T3-13801) for Possession of marijuana. Mr. Kemp was located at his residence. Upon contact with Mr. Kemp, a small baggie of marijuana, CDS smoking device and a digital scale were observed in plain view. He was taken into custody by Tpr. Thompson and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was charged accordingly. TFC L. Nims also served Mr. Kemp with the Circuit Court True Bill Indictment where he was held at the detention center pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

ILLEGAL DRUGS: On Friday, January 30, 2009 at 10:50 pm, TFC E. Evans and Tpr. J. Hardesty initiated a traffic stop on Old Three Notch Rd., north of Mervell Dean Road in Hollywood on a silver Lincoln Town Car for exceeding the posted speed limit. Contact was made with the driver, Candice Anne Robey, 19, and the front seat passenger, Brittney Adair Hall, 18, both from Hollywood. While speaking with the occupants, an odor of marijuana was detected. Ms. Robey was found to be in possession of two baggies of marijuana and one silver digital scale containing marijuana. Ms. Hall was found to be in possession of a multi-colored glass CDS smoking device. Both subjects were taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where they were charged according. Ms. Robey was held pending a bond review. Ms. Hall was issued a criminal citation for possession of a CDS smoking device. She was given a preliminary inquiry date for court of February 13, 2009 and released at St. Mary's Hospital.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On Saturday, January 31, 2009 at 2:17 am, Michael Scott Rothaus, 18, of Leonardtown, Joshua James Norris, 19, of Clements, Kyle Joseph Piontek, 18, of Center Rutland, VT and Shawn Joseph Wood, 18, of California were arrested by Tpr. C. Evans for possession of marijuana and CDS paraphernalia. Contact was made with the driver, Mr. Norris and a strong odor of marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. Mr. Norris was found to be in possession of a partially burnt marijuana cigarette and a baggie of marijuana. The other subjects were found to be in possession of a baggie of marijuana and CDS paraphernalia. All subjects were transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where they were held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT: On Saturday, January 31, 2009 at 9:32 am, TFC J. Stern responded to the 23000 block of Hollywood Road in Leonardtown for the reported disturbance. Upon arrival, contact was made with the suspect, George Vernon Maddox, 28, of Leonardtown who advised he was involved in an argument. Contact was then made with the female victim, 36, of Leonardtown who advised she was assaulted by Mr. Maddox. After all parties at the residence were interviewed, Mr. Maddox was taken into custody for Domestic Assault 2nd Degree and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

ASSAULT, POSSESSION: On Saturday, January 31, 2009 at 12:00 pm, Tpr. J. Pilkerton responded to the 21000 block of Lynn Drive in Lexington Park for the reported disturbance. Upon arrival, contact was made with the female victim, 41, of Lexington Park who advised she was assaulted by her 15 year-old son. The juvenile was taken into custody for 2nd Degree Assault. Prior to leaving the residence with the juvenile, the mother turned over a green cigar case and a green plastic baggie both containing marijuana seeds she had found in his bedroom. The juvenile was transported to the Leonardtown Barrack for processing. He was later released to his mother pending further action by Juvenile Services.

BENCH WARRANTS: On Friday, January 30, 2009 at 3:15 am, Stephanie Lynn Stoltz, 21, of Lexington Park was arrested by Tpr. C. Evans on two outstanding Bench Warrants (T3-13761) and (T3-13795) for Failing to Appear in District Court on December 19, 2008 and January 27, 2009 respectively. The original charge for both warrants was driving on a suspended license. She was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where she was held pending a bond review.
