Hollywood Recreation Center Closed for Repairs

LEONARDTOWN, Md. (Jan. 23, 2009)—The Hollywood Recreation Center has been closed due to a rupture in the water main supply line that occurred Thursday. The iron pipe installed when the facility was built in the 1950’s had deteriorated and is being replaced with a copper pipe.

County officials say the priority repair is ongoing and water should be back in service on Saturday, Jan. 24 and the facility will open on Monday, Jan. 26.

The Hollywood Recreation Center is located at 24400 Mervell Dean Road.

This facility houses a before and after-school program; all families were notified that the program was relocated to the Hollywood Elementary School for Friday. The before and after school program at the facility opens at 6:30 a.m. and closes at 6:30 p.m. and serves children in grades K-2nd grade. For more information on the child care program, call 301-373-6520.

The smoke-free facility is also available for rent. Call 301-373-5410 for more information.
