Local Navy Contract Awards


WASHINGTON (Dec. 10, 2009) - The U.S. Department of Defense recently announced the following contract awards that pertain to local Navy activities.

Raytheon Co., Fort Wayne, Ind., is being awarded a $12,738,186 delivery order against a previously issued basic order agreement (N00019-05-G-0008) for the procurement of 30 electronic modules for the Royal Australian Air Force AF/A-18F aircraft under the Foreign Military Sales program. Work will be performed in Fort Wayne and is expected to be completed in August 2013. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md., is the contracting activity.

Deloitte Consulting LLP, Arlington, Va., is being awarded a $28,163,676 modification to a previously awarded indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity multiple award contract (N00421-03-D-0014) to execute an award term for continued E-2/C-2 planning, program and financial services in support of the Navy and the government of Egypt under the Foreign Military Sales program. Work will be performed in Patuxent River, Md., and is expected to be completed in December 2010. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Patuxent River, Md., is the contracting activity.

McDonnell Douglas Corp., a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Co., St. Louis, Mo., is being awarded a $9,518,720 order against a previously issued Basic Ordering Agreement (N00019-05-G-0026) for the necessary personnel, material and support to repair or replace damaged components of Kuwait F/A-18 aircraft tail number 421 for the government of Kuwait under the Foreign Military Sales program. Work will be performed at Ahmed Al Jaber Air Base, Kuwait, and is expected to be completed in December 2012. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. Pratt & Whitney Military Engines, East Hartford, Conn., is being awarded a $5,954,085 modification to a previously awarded firm-fixed-price contract (N00019-09-C-0083) to exercise an option for maintenance, logistics and engineering supplies and services for F100-PW-220/220E augmented turbofan engines, modules and serviceable parts for F-16A and F-16B aircraft based at Naval Strike and Air Warfare Center, Fallon, Nev. Work will be performed in San Antonio, Texas, and is expected to be completed in November 2010. Contract funds in the amount of $5,954,085 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md., is the contracting activity.

Lockheed Martin Corp., Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Co., Fort Worth, Texas, is being awarded a $329,400,000 modification to the previously awarded Joint Strike Fighter air system low rate initial production Lot III cost-plus-incentive-fee/award-fee contract (N00019-08-C-0028) for special tooling and special test equipment. Work will be performed in Fort Worth, Texas (35 percent); El Segundo, Calif. (25 percent); Warton, United Kingdom (20 percent); Orlando, Fla. (10 percent); Nashua, N.H. (5 percent); and Baltimore, Md. (5 percent). Work is expected to be completed in November 2011. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. General Electric Aircraft Engines, Lynn, Mass., is being awarded a $28,096,373 modification to a previously awarded firm-fixed-price contract (N00019-06-C-0088) for engineering and integrated logistics services in support of the F/A-18E/F F414-GE-400. Work will be performed in Lynn, Mass. (78 percent); Evendale, Ohio (13 percent); Lemoore, Calif. (5 percent); and Jacksonville, Fla. (4 percent). Work is expected to be completed in December 2010. Contract funds in the amount of $1,039,505 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md. is the contracting activity.

The Boeing Co., Seattle, Wash., is being awarded a $12,465,000 not-to-exceed modification to a previously awarded cost-plus-award-fee contract (N00019-04-C-3146) for non-recurring engineering in support of the P-8A initial operation test and evaluation. Specific efforts include the modification of courseware and training devices and transition and integration of organic maintenance. Work will be performed in St. Louis, Mo. (60 percent), and Seattle, Wash. (40 percent), and is expected to be completed in January 2012. Contract funds in the amount of $1,000,000 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. McDonnell Douglas Corp., a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Co., St. Louis, Mo., is being awarded a $7,212,000 firm-fixed-price order against a previously issued basic ordering agreement (N00019-05-G-0026) in support of Navy F-18 aircraft. This order provides for the production and delivery of 14 multipurpose display indicators (MDI); seven horizontal situation displays (HSD); seven AFC-430 install kits (kits to install MDIs and HSDs); 12 AFC-493 install kits (kits to install ejection seats); and seven AYC-1363 install kits (kits to prepare canopy for the Joint Helmet Mounted Cueing System). Work will be performed in Toronto, Canada (57 percent); St. Louis, Mo. (22 percent); various locations throughout the continental United States (9 percent); Halifax, Canada (4 percent); Grand Rapids, Mich. (2 percent); Sylmar, Calif. (1 percent); Tempe, Ariz. (1 percent); Mesa, Ariz. (1 percent); El Segundo, Calif. (1 percent); O'Fallon, Mo. (1 percent); and Butler, N.J. (1 percent), and is expected to be completed in January 2012. Sikorsky Aircraft Corp., Stratford, Conn., is being awarded a $6,988,148 firm-fixed-price modification to a previously awarded indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity delivery order contract (N00019-07-D-0004) to exercise an option for the VH-60N executive helicopter special progressive aircraft rework aircraft induction. Work will be performed in Stratford, Conn., and is expected to be completed in February 2011. Contract funds in the amount of $6,988,148 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md.,is the contracting activity.

McDonnell Douglas Corp., a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Co., St. Louis, Mo., is being awarded a $6,600,000 not-to-exceed order against a previously issued Basic Ordering Agreement (N00019-05-G-0026) for F/A-18 A-D Service Life Extension Program Phase B+ engineering support services. Work will be performed in St. Louis, Mo. (55 percent), and El Segundo, Calif. (45 percent). Work is expected to be completed in December 2010. McDonnell Douglas Corp., a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Co., St. Louis, Mo., is being awarded a $386,046,463 modification to a previously awarded firm-fixed-price contract (N00019-09-C-0086) for the procurement of 22 EA-18G Lot 33 Full Rate Production (FRP) airborne electronic attack (AEA) kits, 22 EA-18G Lot 34 FRP AEA kits, and the associated non-recurring engineering. Work will be performed in Baltimore, Md. (46.5 percent); Bethpage, N.Y. (22.7 percent); St. Louis, Mo. (13.5 percent); Melbourne, Fla. (5.5 percent); Fort Wayne, Ind. (3.7 percent); Thousand Oaks, Calif. (3.7 percent); Wallingford, Conn. (2.6 percent); Nashua, N.H. (1.1 percent); and Westminster, Colo. (.7 percent), and is expected to be completed in December 2012. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. L-3 Communications Corp., Arlington, Texas, is being awarded a $52,282,576 modification to a previously awarded firm-fixed price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract (N00019-07-D-0100) to exercise an option for aircraft depot repairs and aircraft engine depot repairs, consumables and line replaceable unit supply support for the Navy C-9 aircraft. Work will be performed in Everett, Wash. (35 percent); Oklahoma City, Okla. (25 percent); Oceana, Va., (10 percent); Willow Grove, Pa. (10 percent); Whidbey Island, Wash. (10 percent); and Cherry Point, N.C. (10 percent), and is expected to be completed in November 2010. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. Rolls-Royce Corp., Indianapolis, Ind., is being awarded a $22,620,960 firm-fixed-price contract to provide maintenance services in support of the MV-22 and CV-22 AE1107C engines. Work will be performed in Indianapolis, Ind., and is expected to be completed in December 2010. Contract funds in the amount of $21,330,144 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was not competitively procured pursuant to FAR 6.302-1. This contract combines purchases for the U.S. Navy ($12,384,221; 54.7 percent) and the U.S. Air Force ($10,236,739; 45.3 percent). The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md., is the contracting activity (N00019-10-C-0020).

Raytheon Missile Systems, Tucson, Ariz., is being awarded a $19,078,537 modification to a previously awarded firm-fixed-price contract (N00019-07-C-0008) for AIM-9X Sidewinder (Block II) missile obsolescence and engineering technical support for the Navy and Air Force. Efforts to be provided include missile obsolescence tasks, engineering technical support and software development. Work will be performed in Tucson, Ariz. (90 percent); Eglin, Fla. (5 percent); and China Lake, Calif.(5 percent), and is expected to be completed in November 2010. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract combines purchases for the U.S. Air Force ($11,404,293; 59.8 percent) and the U.S. Navy ($7,674,244; 40.2 percent). The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md. is the contracting activity.

McDonnell Douglas Corp., a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Co., St. Louis, Mo., is being awarded a $9,370,636 modification to a previously awarded firm-fixed-price contract (N00019-04-C-0014) to incorporate engineering change proposals 6251 and 6251R1 to convert 22 Lot 33 F/A-18F aircraft to E/A-18G aircraft. Work will be performed in St. Louis, Mo. (62 percent); El Segundo, Calif. (36 percent); and Mesa, Ariz. (2 percent), and is expected to be completed in September 2011.
