MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (Dec. 31, 2008) - The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) on Tuesday released the following incident and arrest reports.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at 12:04 am, Roshaundra Davenna Dyson, 22, of Valley Lee was arrested by Tpr. N. Gresko for possession of marijuana. Ms. Dyson was a passenger in a silver Pontiac Bonneville when it was stopped for an equipment violation on Point Lookout Road, at College Circle in Leonardtown. Upon contact with the male driver, 20, of Loveville and a strong odor of burnt marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. Ms. Dyson was found to be in possession a small plastic baggie of marijuana. She was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where she was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

THEFT: On Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at 2:05 pm, Tpr. M. Pitcher responded to the Target department store at 45155 First Colony Way in California for the reported theft in progress. Upon arrival, contact was made with the loss prevention officer who had detained Christopher Joseph Pennington, 19, of Leonardtown for stealing three Blu-Ray DVDs. The DVDs were recovered and returned to the store. Mr. Pennington was taken into custody and issued a no trespass notice, a criminal citiation with a preliminary inquiry court date of January 9, 2009 and released at the scene.

THEFT FROM VEHICLE: On Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at 3:58 pm, TFC M. Moore responded to the 26000 block of South Laurel Glen Road in California for the reported theft from motor vehicle. Upon arrival contact was made with the male complainant, 36, of California, who advised unknown suspects stole four Hatachi roofing nail guns valued at $1,500.00, one Hatachi framing nail gun valued at $475.00, one Hatachi drill valued at $75.00 and two DeWalt drills valued at $150.00. Total loss is $2,200.00. The complainant advised the items were stolen between December 22, 2008 at 6:30 pm and December 23, 2008 at 5:30 am. The investigation continues.

ILLEGAL DRUGS: On Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at 5:13 pm, Kristopher Brenton Gray, 21, of Leonardtown was arrested by Cpl. J. Linger for possession of a prescription medication not prescribed to him. Mr. Gray was a passenger in red Ford Escort traveling southbound Three Notch Road approaching Hollywood Road in Hollywood when it was stopped on Hollywood Road for exceeding the posted speed limit. Contact was made with the driver and the passenger, Kristopher Brenton Gray. Mr. Gray was found to be in possession of one Oxycotin pill and 18.5 Vicodin pills. Mr. Gray did not have a prescription for the medication and was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On Friday, December 26, 2008 at 1:47 am, Howard Mitchell White, Jr., 24, of Clinton was arrested by Tpr. G. Thompson for possession of marijuana. Mr. White was operating a gray Dodge Charger on southbound Three Notch Road in Mechanicsville when it was stopped on Thompson Corner Road for exceeding the posted speed limit. Upon contact with the driver, Mr. White a strong odor of marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. Mr. White was found to be in possession of a blue plastic bag containing marijuana. Mr. White was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On Saturday, December 27, 2008 at 3:18 am, John Warren Gibson, Jr., 21, of Leonardtown was arrested by Tpr. M. Pitcher for possession of marijuana. Mr. Gibson was seated in his vehicle at the WAWA Convenience Store in California. Upon making contact with Mr. Gibson, a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was emitting from his breath. Mr. Gibson was given Field Sobriety tests and subsequently arrested for DUI. A search incident to arrest revealed Mr. Gibson was in possession of a plastic bag containing marijuana and a glass CDS smoking device. Mr. Gibson was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was processed and charged accordingly.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On Saturday, December 27, 2008 at 11:49 am, Joshua Michael McGee, 21 of Mechanicsville was arrested by Tpr. G. Thompson for possession of marijuana. Mr. McGee was a passenger in a blue Ford F-150 when it was stopped for routine traffic violation on Old Village Road, in the area of Three Notch Road in Mechanicsville. Upon contact with the male driver, an odor of marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. A small baggie of marijuana was found on Mr. McGee's person. He was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT ARREST: On Monday, December 22, 2008 at 9:30 am, Kevin Anthony Murphy, Jr., 20, of Ridge was arrested by Tpr. M. Pitcher on an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-13751) issued by the District Court in Leonardtown Failing to Appear in District Court on December 12, 2008. The original charge was Driving on a Suspended Out of State License. Mr. Murphy turned himself in at MSP Leonardtown and he was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review.

WARRANT ARREST: On Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at 3:50 am, Thomas D. Ford, 33, of Lexington Park was arrested by Tpr. N. Gresko on an outstanding Circuit Court Warrant (T3-13732) for Failing to Appear in Circuit Court on November 25, 2008. The original charge was exceeding the posted Speed Limit. Mr. Ford was served the warrant at the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT ARREST: On Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at 7:40 am, David Evi Cooper, 41, of Delaware was served a Fugitive Other Area warrant (T3-13762) as a result of an outstanding Warrant through the State of Delaware for False Promise over $1,000.00 and Home Improvement Fraud. Mr. Cooper was already incarcerated in the St. Mary's County Detention Center for driving on a suspended license. Mr. Cooper remains incarcerated pending extradition back to Delaware.

WARRANT ARREST: On Thursday, December 25, 2008 at 8:15 am, John Thomas Merrill, 47, of California was arrested by Tpr. J. Hardesty on an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-13748) for Violation of Probation / Failing to Follow Condition of Probation (DUI). Mr. Merrill was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT ARREST: On Saturday, December 27, 2008 at 1:00 am, Phillip Randolph Adams, 29, of Mechanicsville was arrested by Tpr. G. Thompson on four outstanding Bench Warrants (T313480) Failing to Appear in District Court in Leonardtown on July 1, 2008. The original charge was Driving/Attempting to Drive Motor Vehicle on highway without required license or authorization, (T3-13499) for Failing to Appear in District Court in Leonardtown on July 11, 2008. The original charges was possession of marijuana, 2 counts of possession of CDS not marijuana and two counts of possession of CDS paraphernalia, (T3-13522) for Failing to Appear in District Court in Leonardtown on July 24, 2008. The original charge was Fraud, and (T3-137675) for Failing to Appear in District Court in Leonardtown on September 24, 2008. The original charges were 10 counts of Obtaining Goods, Money by Forgery, one count of Theft-Scheme Over $500.00, one count of Theft-Scheme Under $500.00, one count of Theft Under $500.00 and three counts of Theft Under $100.00. Mr. Adams was taken into custody at his residence in the 40000 block of New Market Turner Road in Mechanicsville. He was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review.
