MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (Dec. 16, 2008) - The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

ASSAULT: On Friday, December 12, 2008 at 5:26 pm, Tpr. M. Pitcher responded to the 21000 block of Exquisite Court in Lexington Park for the reported disturbance. Upon arrival, contact was made with the female complainant, 36, of Lexington Park who advised she was assaulted by William John Vance, 48, of Lexington Park. All parties were interviewed and Mr. Vance was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was charged with 2nd Degree Assault. He was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On Saturday, December 13, 2008 at 12:14 am, Shawn Roosevelt Thompson, 27, of Chaptico was arrested by Cpl. J. Linger for Possession of Marijuana. Mr. Thompson was a passenger in a white Cadillac Brougham which was stopped at Three Notch Road at Old Village Road in Mechanicsville for an equipment violation. Contact was made with the driver and Mr. Thompson, the front seat passenger. Cpl. Linger observed Marijuana in plain view on Mr. Thompson's pants. Mr. Thompson was later found to be in possession of a cigar containing Marijuana. He was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. Once at the detention center, Mr. Thompson was also found to be in possession of a plastic bag containing Marijuana. Mr. Thompson was charged accordingly and held at the detention center pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On Saturday, December 13, 2008 at 12:20 am, Meredith Lynn Weiers, 34, of Lexington Park was arrested by TFC K. Lashley for Possession of Marijuana. Ms. Weiers was operating a blue Toyota Corolla when she was stopped on Point Lookout Road, north of Willows Road in Lexington Park for exceeding the posted speed limit. Contact was made with the driver, Ms. Weiers and a moderate odor of an alcoholic beverage was emitting from her breath. She was subsequently arrested for DUI. Ms. Weiers was also found to be in possession of a plastic cigarette wrapper containing Marijuana. She was transported to the Leonardtown Barrack for DUI processing and later transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where she was held pending a bond review.

POSSESSION OF CDS PARAPHERNALIA: On Sunday, December 14, 2008 at 2:39 am, Joseph Alan Thompson, 22, of Mechanicsville was arrested by TFC K. Lashley for Possession of CDS Paraphernalia. Mr. Thompson was a passenger in a black Chevrolet Cavalier when it was stopped on Mechanicsville Road, north of Yowaiski Mill Road in Mechanicsville for exceeding the posted speed limit. Mr. Thompson was found to be in possession of a CDS smoking device. He was issued a Criminal Citation with a Preiminary Inquiry date and released at the scene.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On Monday, December 15, 2008 at 1:03 am, Dashawn Lakeem Moore, 24, of Bowie was arrested by Cpl. J. Linger for Possession of Marijuana. Mr. Moore was operating a blue Chevrolet Silverado on southbound Three Notch Road, north of Hollywood Road in Hollywood when he was stopped for an equipment violation. Contact was made with the driver, Mr. Moore and an odor of burnt Marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. A routine check through MVA revealed Mr. Moore's driving privileges are suspended. Mr. Moore was placed under arrest. He was also found to be in possession of Marijuana and CDS paraphernalia. Mr. Moore was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was charged accordingly and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT ARREST: On Friday, December 12, 2008 at 7:50 pm, Renono Davonne Pinkney, 25, of Suitland was arrested by Tpr. G. Thompson on an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-13233) for Failing to Appear in District Court in Leonardtown on January 8, 2008. The original charge was driving on a Suspended License. Mr. Pinkney was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review.

WARRANT ARREST: On Friday, December 12, 2008 at 1:40 am, Gregory Lee Copsey, 19, of Mechanicsville was arrested by TFC Rezza on an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-13738) for Failing to Appear in District Court in Leonardtown on December 5, 2008. The original charge was Possession of Alcohol by a person under age 21. Mr. Copsey was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review.

WARRANT ARREST: On Monday, December 15, 2008 at 9:00 am, Tamara R. Bozman, 42, of Lexington Park was arrested by Tpr. E. Page on an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-13734) for Failing to Appear in District Court in Leonardtown on December 4, 2008. The original charge was driving on both a Suspended and Revoked License. Ms. Bozman was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where she was held pending a bond review.
