Charles County Sheriff's Reports


LA PLATA, Md. (Nov. 26, 2008) - The Charles County Sheriff's Department today released the following incident and arrest reports.

FATAL MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION: On Nov. 25 at 9:43 p.m., Charles County Sheriff's officers responded to Crain Highway at Centennial Street in La Plata for the report of a motor vehicle collision. Investigation revealed the driver of a Honda Civic was traveling north on Crain Highway approaching Centennial Street when he struck a pedestrian who was in the roadway, crossing the street. The victim, Robert Samuel Moore, 45, of Waldorf, was flown to Prince George's Hospital Center where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the car did not sustain any injuries. Officer R.E. Glover, Jr. of the Traffic Operations Unit is handling the investigation.

BURGLARY: On Nov. 25 at 7:37 p.m., officers responded to the 4600 block of Sheffield Circle in Waldorf for the report of a burglary. Investigation revealed the suspects forced entry into a model home by breaking out a rear window of the house. Once inside, the suspects stole computer equipment then fled. Officer A. St. Germain is handling the investigation.

BURGLARY: On Nov. 24, officers responded to the 2000 block of Tanglewood Drive in Waldorf for the report of a breaking and entering. Investigation revealed sometime between 3 p.m. and 9 p.m., the suspect broke into the victim's house by removing a screen from a rear window. Once inside, the suspect stole numerous items including small electronics, cash and jewelry. Officer D. Sauve is handling the investigation.

BURGLARY: On Nov. 24, officers responded to the 400 block of Thistle Place in Waldorf for the report of a burglary. Investigation revealed sometime between 9:30 a.m. and 5:40 p.m., the suspect broke into the victim's house by entering a window at the rear of the residence. After stealing numerous items, the suspect fled. Officers canvassed the neighborhood and found evidence the suspects may have attempted to gain entry into another house. Officer Rodriguez is handling the investigation.
