St. Mary's County Sheriff's Reports


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (Sept. 24, 2008) - The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office this week released the following incident and arrest reports.

MURDER FOR HIRE ARREST: BCI detectives arrested Michael D. Redman, 24, of Leonardtown, on September 22 and charged him with 2 counts of attempted first degree murder. The arrest was the result of a BCI investigation into a murder for hire scheme. On several occasions Redman discussed paying a confidential informant to kill his estranged wife and her boyfriend. He was incarcerated in the St. Mary's County Detention Center.

TRESPASSING, OPEN CONTAINER VIOLATION: On September 20 at approximately 8:30 p.m., Senior Deputy First Class Michael Peacher was patrolling Millison Plaza in Lexington Park when he observed Jeffrey Montgomery Travers, 50, of Lexington Park, sitting on the sidewalk consuming an alcoholic beverage. Sdfc. Peacher was very familiar with Jeffrey Travers as Peacher had served Mr. Travers with a no trespassing notice for Millison Plaza on 07/25/08. Mr. Travers' appeared to be very intoxicated and was in possession of an open container of an alcoholic beverage. Sdfc. Peacher contacted the Sheriff's Office HQ and confirmed the no trespassing notice was still in effect for Mr. Travers for Millison Plaza. Travers was arrested and charged with trespassing and consuming alcoholic beverages where prohibited.

ILLEGAL DRUGS: On Sept. 22 at approximately 10:44 p.m., Deputy J. Graves stopped a vehicle for which Kevin Francis Thompson, 19, of Leonardtown, was the front seat passenger. The owner and operator of the vehicle had committed a traffic violation. Deputy Graves obtained written permission from the owner to search the vehicle. A consent search of the vehicle was conducted. Deputy Graves located an orange cigar tube between the two front seats. The item could have been reached by the operator or passenger of the vehicle. Inside the cigar tube was a hand rolled cigar containing suspected marijuana. Investigation revealed the suspected marijuana belonged to Kevin Thompson. Mr. Thompson was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance - marijuana.

On Sept. 21 at approximately 11:03 p.m., law officers in St. Mary's County responded to Card Road in Lexington Park for an armed robbery. The investigation revealed that two suspects robbed a Domino's Pizza driver of an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency. The suspects then fled towards Spring Valley Apartments. Through a K-9 track and additional leads, one of two suspects, Wayne Aloysius Jordan Jr., 18, of Lexington Park was apprehended. He was charged with the robbery. It was also discovered that Jordan had an open warrant through the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office for violation of probation. The second suspect, Anthony George Queen, Jr., 18, of Lexington Park could not be located.

ARREST FOR ARMED ROBBERY: Deputies located and arrested Anthony George Queen Jr., 18, of Lexington Park, at his residence on Sept. 23. He was the second suspect arrested for the Sept. 21 armed robbery of a Domino's Pizza delivery person in Lexington Park. BCI detectives charged Queen with armed robbery, theft and first degree assault.
