Lt. Governor Brown To Meet With Delegation From Iraq


ANNAPOLIS (June 4, 2008) – Lt. Governor Anthony G. Brown is scheduled to meet with Mamoon S. Rashid Al-Alwani, Governor of Al Anbar Province and a delegation from Iraq today at 3:00 p.m. in the Miller Senate Office Building in Annapolis. Governor Al-Alwani and his Delegation are visiting the United States as part of the U.S. Department of State’s International Visitor Leadership Program.

The Delegation is meeting with Lt. Governor Brown to discuss building and promoting a Democratic government, according to Brown's office.

Lt. Governor Brown met with Governor Al-Alwani during an earlier visit to the United States in November 2007.

While serving in Iraq, Lt. Governor Brown worked with The National Democratic Institute for International Affairs (NDI). According to their website, NDI is a nonprofit organization working to strengthen and expand democracy worldwide. NDI is associated with the Democratic Party of the U.S.
