CORRECTION: Charlotte Hall Food Lion Employee Theft


(May 25, 2008)—On May 19 we ran the blotter for the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office which incorrectly indicated that Rebecca Ann Lumpkins, age 18 of Mechanicsville, was arrested for the theft of approximately $5,000 worth of cash and merchandise from the Food Lion in Charlotte Hall. Lumpkins is the Loss Prevention Officer for the store and was not suspected nor arrested.

According to Lt. Terry L. Black, Commander, Patrol Division for the Sheriff's Office, the suspect arrested was Jamie L. Rapczynski, age 18, of Mechanicsville.

The Food Lion Loss Prevention Officer, Rebecca Ann Lumpkins, reported to police that Rapczynski, an employee of the store, had stolen approximately $5,000 worth of currency and various food items between early April 2008 and May 16, 2008. The police report indicates Rapczynski was recorded via in store video surveillance stealing the money and items. Rapczynski was arrested and charged with theft and theft scheme.
