MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (May 08, 2008) - The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

WARRANT ARREST: On Thursday, May 1, 2008 at 3:25 pm, Phillip Randolph Adams, 28, of Clements was arrested by Tpr. M. Adams for assuming the identity of another person to avoid apprehension or prosecution for a crime. Tpr. M. Adams observed a black Chrysler parked at Brewski's Bar on Point Lookout Road in Loveville. Mr. Phillip Adams was a passenger in the vehicle when Tpr. M. Adams made contact with the female operator. During the course of the investigation Tpr. M. Adams was able to positively identify Mr. Adams and confirm there was an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-13373) for his arrest. The original charge on the bench warrant was for driving without the required license or authorization. Mr. Adams was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was detained pending a bond review.

THEFT: On Friday, May 2, 2008 at 8:14 pm, Tpr. E. Page responded to a reported Theft of a pressure washer from a residence in the 21000 block of Forest Run Drive in Lexington Park. Contact was made with the complainant who advised unknown suspect(s) stole a Craftsman 3000 PSI Pressure Washer, serial no. 580752070. The complainant advised the pressure washer was last seen approximately a month ago in the shed to the rear of the residence. Value of the pressure washer was $400.00. The investigation continues.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT: On Saturday, Mary 3, 2008 at 8:46 pm, Thomas Kevin Benton, 26, of Nanjemoy was arrested by TFC R. Rezza for Disorderly Conduct. Mr. Benton was ejected from Maryland International Raceway (MIR) in Budds Creek for creating a disturbance on the property. TFC R. Rezza responded to a 911 simulcast for a reported disturbance at Route 234 and Route 236 in Mechanicsville. Upon arrival contact was made with TFC M. Davis, who was off-duty and who had Mr. Benton in custody for throwing rocks at passing vehicles. TFC R. Rezza took custody of Mr. Benton and transported him to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was charged with Disorderly Conduct and Disturbing the Peace.

ILLEGAL DRUGS: On Monday, May 5, 2008 at 4:58 pm, William Melvin Barbour, 47, of Chaptico was arrested by TFC P. Trossbach for possession of Marijuana and CDS paraphernalia. Mr. Barbour was operating a red Toyota Corolla when he was stopped for failing to drive in a single lane on Route 238 north of Stoney Hill Road in Chaptico. TFC Trossbach made contact with the driver, Mr. Barbour and a strong odor of burnt Marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. During the course of the traffic stop, Mr. Barbour was found to be in possession of a CDS smoking device containing Marijuana. Mr. Barbour was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was detained pending a bond review.

ILLEGAL DRUGS: On Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at 11:13 am, James Price, 46, of Lexington Park was arrested by Tpr. M. Adams for possession of Cocaine and CDS paraphernalia. Tpr. M. Adams was attempting to serve a Grand Jury Indictment on Mr. Price at his residence on Enterprise Drive in Lexington Park. Mr. Price was located and taken into custody as a result of the Grand Jury Indictment. A search incident to the arrest revealed Mr. Price had a CDS smoking device with Cocaine on his person. Mr. Price was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was detained pending a bond review.
