MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (April 7, 2008) - The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

THEFT: On Thursday, April 3, 2008 at 11:00 am, TFC K. Lashley received a complaint at the Leonardtown Barrack from an employee of Harris Motor Cars in Hollywood. The complainant advised unknown suspect(s) stole the Maryland dealer registration plate from their Ford rollback between March 27, 2008 at 4:00 pm and March 28, 2008 at 10:00 am. The investigation continues.

THEFT: On Friday, April 4, 2008 at 10:32 am, Tpr. J. Hardesty responded to Guy Motors in the 28000 block of Three Notch Road in Mechanicsville for the reported Theft. Contact was made with the male complainant who advised three coils of copper welding leads (900 feet) were stolen from the complainant's work truck. The complainant advised the copper welding leads were seen on the truck on April 1, 2008. On April 2, 2007 at 4:00 pm, the complainant noticed the three of the four coils of copper welding leads were missing from the truck. The copper welding leads are valued at $2,050.00. The investigation continues.

ILLEGAL DRUGS: On Friday, April 4, 2008 at 12:15 pm, a 17 year old male juvenile was arrested by TFC L. Nims for possession of Marijuana. The juvenile was operating a gray Ford Taurus on north bound Route 235 in Hollywood when he was stopped for speeding. During the course of the traffic stop, the juvenile was found to be in possession of Marijuana. The juvenile was transported to the Leonardtown Barrack where he was processed and released to a guardian pending further action by Juvenile Services.

ILLEGAL DRUGS: On Saturday, April 5, 2008 at 9:22 am, Timothy Lee Goelling, 30, of Mechanicsville was arrested by TFC R. Rezza for possession of Cocaine, possession of Marijuana and possession of a CDS smoking device. TFC Rezza and TFC M. Moore responded to Mr. Goelling's residence on Barton Street in Mechanicsville in an attempt to serve an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-13333) for Failing to Appear in District Court in Leonardtown. The original charge was Driving while Suspended. Mr. Goelling was taken into custody. A search of his person incident to the arrest revealed Mr. Goelling was in possession of the Cocaine, Marijuana and the multi-colored glass smoking device with burnt Marijuana. Mr. Goeling was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was detained pending a bond review.

ILLEGAL DRUGS: On Saturday, April 5, 2008 at 11:15 pm, TFC P. Trossbach initiated a traffic stop on north bound Route 5 at Route 243 in Leonardtown on a tan Hyundai Sonata for failing to drive in a single lane. Contact was made with the four occupants of the vehicle and a strong odor of burnt marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. During the course of the traffic stop, the driver, Amber Renee Kellis, 23, of Lexington Park, Terrell Waul, 22, of California, Christopher Michael Gaines, 27, of Lexington Park and Nicholas Olanda Waul, 26, of Lexington Park were arrested for possession of Marijuana. A clear plastic baggie of Marijuana was found in the vehicle. All occupants of the vehicle were taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where they were detained pending a bond review.

Additionally, Mr. Nicholas O. Waul was also charged with making false statements to a police officer and hindering an investigation. During the course of Mr. Nicholas Waul's arrest he provided the wrong name several times during the process of his being arrested. Once his true identity was revealed it was found that Mr. Nicholas Waul was wanted by the Maryland State Police in Leonardtown on an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-12062) for Violation of Probation for DWI, in addition to being wanted by both the St. Mary's County and Charles County Sheriff's Departments. Mr. Nicholas Waul was held on No Bond pending his court appearance for the outstanding warrants in this county. A detainer has been filed by the Charles County Sheriff's Department pending his release.

WARRANT ARREST: On Thursday, April 3, 2008 at 10:00 am, Thomas Dewayne Ford, 33, of Lexington Park was arrested by TFC R. Rezza on an outstanding Circuit Court Warrant (T3-13345) for Failing to Appear in Circuit Court on March 31, 2008. The original charge was Driving on Suspended License. Mr. Ford was taken to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review.

WARRANT ARREST: On Thursday, April 3, 2008 at 10:57 pm, Paul Lionel Johnson, 44, of Callaway was arrested by TFC E. Evans on an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-13347) for Failing to Appear in Circuit Court on March 31, 2008. The original charge was for exceeding the posted speed limit. Mr. Johnson was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was detained pending a bond review.

WARRANT ARREST: On Saturday, April 5, 2008 at 1:30 pm, Joseph Bernard Ross, 27, of Mechanicsville was arrested by TFC R. Rezzza on an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-13228) for Failing to Appear in District Court in Leonardtown on January 4, 2008. The original charge was DUI/DWI, Driving While Suspended and Revoked. Mr. Ross was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was detained pending a bond review.

WARRANT ARREST: On Sunday, April 6, 2008 at 9:00 am, Ryder Cioffi Henry, 22, of Lexington Park was arrested by TFC L. Nims on an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-13349) for Failing to Appear in District Court in Leonardtown on April 3, 2008. The original charge was Possession of CDS. Mr. Henry was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was detained pending a bond review.

WARRANT ARREST: On Sunday, April 6, 2008 at 9:44 am Thomas Edward Lane, Jr., 25, of Lexington Park was arrested by TFC M. Moore on an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-13318) for Failing to Appear in District Court in Calvert County on March 3, 2008. The original charge was possession of CDS paraphernalia. Mr. Lane was taken to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was detained pending a bond review.
