Verizon Wireless Adds Cell Towers in Calvert, Charles

LAUREL, Md. (March 14, 2008)—Verizon Wireless announced this week that it has added a new cell site in both Calvert and Charles counties in order to provide better coverage and capacity for customers.

The cell site in Calvert County is located in Lusby. The new cell site increases coverage and capacity along Route 2, Nursery Rd., Santa Cruz Dr., Catalina Dr., Turner Rd. and Mill Bridge Rd.

The cell site in Charles County is located in Faulkner. The new cell site increases coverage and capacity along Route 301, Route 234 and Pope's Creek Rd.

Verizon wireless says the network expansion is part of an aggressive multi-billion dollar network investment each year. The company says they spent $300 million to enhance services and coverage throughout Washington, Baltimore and Virginia in 2007, bringing the network investment in the region to more than $1.8 billion since 2000.
