MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (Jan. 14, 2008) - The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

ILLEGAL DRUGS: On Friday, January 11, 2008 at 2:45 am, Alfred Johnathon Thomas, Jr., 35, of Mechanicsville was arrested by TFC J. Linger for possession of Cocaine, possession of Marijuana and possession of CDS paraphernalia. A routine check of NCIC check revealed Mr. Thomas had an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-13187) through MSP Leonardtown. The charges on the warrant were for Failing to Appear in District Court for Driving While Suspended and Revoked. TFC J. Linger and Tpr. W. Jefferson took Mr. Thomas into custody for the open warrant. A search incident to the arrest revealed Mr. Thomas was in possession of a glass CDS smoking device containing Cocaine. A burnt marijuana cigar was found in the vehicle after a search of his vehicle incident to the arrest. Mr. Thomas was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was detained pending a bond review.

ILLEGAL DRUGS: On Friday, January 11, 2008 at 2:23 pm, Steven Wendell Mason, Jr., 20, of Woodbridge, Virginia was arrested by TFC T. Quade and Tpr. N. Gresko for possession of Cocaine. TFC T. Quade and Tpr. N. Gresko responded to the 46000 block of Midway Drive in Lexington Park for a domestic dispute. Upon arrival contact was made with a female, 26, of Lexington Park and Mr. Mason. During the course of the investigation, Mr. Mason was found to be in possession of two small baggies of Cocaine. He was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was detained pending a bond review.

ILLEGAL DRUGS: On Friday, January 11, 2008 at 4:30 pm, Walker Douglas Cooper, 23, of Lexington Park and Nathaniel James Doty, 21, of Baltimore were arrested by TFC E. Evans and Tpr. J. Gibson for possession of Marijuana. Mr. Cooper was operating a silver Toyota Tacoma when he was stopped for exceeding the posted speed limit on Route 5 at Willows Road in Lexington Park. During the course of the traffic stop, Mr. Cooper and Mr. Doty were found to be in possession of Marijuana. Both were taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where they were detained pending a bond review.

ILLEGAL DRUGS: On Saturday, January 12, 2008 at 3:35 am, Ed Suander Lyon, 48, of Clements was arrested by TFC J. Linger and Tpr. W. Jefferson for possession of Cocaine. Mr. Lyon was operating a black Ford Explorer when he was stopped on Route 242 in Avenue for failing to drive in a single lane. During the course of the traffic stop, a routine check through MVA revealed Mr. Lyon's driver's license is suspended. Mr. Lyon was arrested for driving on a suspended license. A search incident to arrest revealed Mr. Lyon was in possession of a plastic bag of cocaine. Mr. Lyon was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and charged accordingly.

ILLEGAL DRUGS: On Sunday, January 13, 2008 at 11:01 pm, Terrence Llewelyn Mason, 43, of Morganza was arrested by TFC J. Linger and Tpr. W. Jefferson for possession of Cocaine and possession of CDS paraphernalia. During the course of the traffic stop, TFC J. Linger observed in plain view a homemade CDS smoking device containing burnt Cocaine. Cocaine was also observed in plain view on the driver's side floor. Mr. Mason was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review.

WARRANT ARREST: On Thursday, January 10, 2008 at 1:37 am, Julius B. Cooper, 28, of Hollywood was arrested by Tpr. Towers on an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-13222) for Failing to Follow Condition of Probation. The original charge was Possession of Marijuana. Mr. Cooper was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was detained pending a bond review.

WARRANT ARREST: On Friday, January 11, 2008 at 6:40 pm, Gene Leroy Scofield, 61, of Warren, Michigan was served a Circuit Court Warrant (T3-13243) at the St. Mary's County Detention Center by Tpr. D. Brill. The original charge was Sex Abuse of a Minor.

WARRANT ARREST: On Friday, January 11, 2008 at 7:50 pm, William Joseph Kemp, 48, of Avenue was served a Circuit Court Warrant (T3-13244) at the St. Mary's County Detention Center by TFC M. Moore. The original charge was Escape Second Degree.

WARRANT ARREST: On Saturday, January 12, 2008 at 2:10 pm, Thomas Erick Pinekenstein, 29, of California was arrested by TFC R. Rezza on an outstanding Circuit Court Bench Warrant (T3-11650) for Failing to Appear on August 12, 2005. The original charge was Theft Over $500. Mr. Pinekenstein was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was detained pending a bond hearing.
