Calvert County Sheriff's Reports


PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (Dec. 12, 2007) - The Calvert County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.

BURGLARY: A victim on Grovers Road in Lusby advised DFC David Gatton that his home was burglarized on December 3 sometime in the afternoon. The culprit(s) stole a Dell laptop Inspiron and a Dell DLP projection screen, both valued at over $2000. Anyone with information is asked to contact DFC Denton at 410-535-2800.

THEFT: Sometime between December 1 and 5, unknown suspect(s) stole a 2001 Honda Sportmax 250 EX four wheel all terrain vehicle, valued at $2800, a 9 horsepower black go-cart, valued at $900 and a red and white THH motorcycle helmet, valued at $50, from a home on Walden Way in Huntingtown. Dep. David Canning is continuing the investigation.

CDS VIOLATION: Dep. Edwin Bradley conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on December 6 at 11:05 p.m. in the area of the parking lot of Lusby Town Square. The driver, identified as Justin J. Scaparro, 20 of Lusby and the lone passenger, identified as Michael T. Schaefer, 20 also of Lusby, were both subsequently placed under arrest for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. They were each also issued a citation for possession of alcohol by a person under age 21.

CDS VIOLATION: On December 8 at 12:21 a.m. Dep. Nicholas DeFelice observed a vehicle pull out from Kyler Road in Huntingtown and skid sideways as it crossed the south bound lanes of Md. Rt. 4 then continue to the northbound lanes and travel at speeds above 100 miles per hour. Dep. DeFelice followed the vehicle and eventually made a traffic stop on Md. Rt. 2. The driver, later identified as Justin D. Smith, 20 of Sunderland, was charged with numerous traffic violations, driving while under the influence and possession of marijuana.

CDS VIOLATION: Dep. James Morgan was on routine patrol on December 8 at 12:45 a.m. when he conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Town Square Drive in Lusby. The driver, later identified as Shiraz L. Parker, 22 of Lusby, was found to be in possession of marijuana and was arrested and charged.

CDS VIOLATION: Cpl. Anthony Moschetto conducted a traffic stop on a speeding vehicle on Md. Rt. 4 at the Fox Run Shopping Center in Prince Frederick on December 8 at 10:39 p.m. The driver, later identified as Samuel J. O'Malley, 49 of Lusby, and lone passenger, Margaret E. Cannon, 47 also of Lusby, were both subsequently arrested and charged with possession of cocaine and marijuana.
