St. Mary's County Sheriff's Reports


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (October 1, 2007) - The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Department today released the following incident and arrest reports.

BURGLARY: Sometime between 09/25/07 and 09/26/07 unknown suspect(s) entered the victim business, 3D Construction, located at 23087 Three Notch Road, via a roof vent and stole two Dell laptop computers. Anyone with information regarding this crime is urged to contact the Sheriff's Office Crime Solvers Tip Line 301-475-3333.

ASSAULT ON CORRECTIONS OFFICER: On 09/27/07 Deputy Jeremy Green responded the Detention Center for a reported assault. Investigation revealed inmate Adair Kirk Scott, 21, of Great Mills, assaulted Correctional Officer Long by pushing him in the chest. This inmate reportedly has assaulted staff previously. Inmate Scott was charged with Assault on Correctional Staff and taken for a hearing before the District Court Commissioner.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT: On 09/30/07 2:40 a.m., Deputy First Class M. Worrey responded to the IHOP restaurant in Lexington Park for a disturbance. Upon arrival he noticed a large crowd in the parking lot. Several orders to disburse were given and ignored. A fight broke out between a group of females. DFC Worrey deployed pepper spray to disburse the crowd that was gathering around the altercation, which was effective. Three females involved in the physical altercation were arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and transported to the Detention Center pending a hearing before the District Court Commissioner. Those arrested were: Sarah Louise Jordan, 28, Frankford Delaware; Katrina Marie Jordan 23, Frankford Delaware; and Lashawn Denise Maddox 22, Great Mills, Maryland.

THEFT OF MOTOR VEHICLE: 09/30/07 Deputy McCoy responded to Marshall Blvd in Lexington Park for the reported Motor Vehicle Theft. Investigation revealed in the early morning hours of 09/30/07 the victim left her unlocked vehicle (2000, Pontiac, Sunfire) in the parking lot of the ABC lounge. When she returned to retrieve the vehicle at about 1200 hours later that day, the vehicle was gone. Vehicle was placed in NCIC and a broadcast was given. No suspect information exists and the investigation continues.

FATAL MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT: 09/28/07 at approximately 730 p.m., Sean Foley Somerville, 26, of Hollywood, Maryland was operating his motorcycle Southbound on Maryland Route 235 and Woodpecker Lane Hollywood, Maryland. He reportedly lost control of his motorcycle, stuck an embankment and was pronounced dead at the scene. Speed and Driver Error are contributing factors in the accident. Alcohol is not believed to be a contributing factor. This on going investigation is being conducted by members of the Sheriff's Office Accident Reconstruction Team.
