Charles County Director of Economic Development Resigns

LA PLATA, Md. - There have been numerous resignations and departmental restructuring in the Charles County government in recent months. This week, John Reardon, the Economic Development Director, resigned. Reardon was initially hired by the Charles County Commissioners to establish an Economic Development Department for Charles County Government.

According to the County Commissioners, Reardon has accepted the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO) for the Facchina Development Corporation located in La Plata.

The County Commissioners noted that Reardon has been a dedicated, hard working and loyal employee of Charles County. “We are disappointed that Mr. Reardon has decided to leave us, but, we often cannot compete with the corporate compensation offered by a new private sector employer,” wrote Wayne Cooper, President, Charles County Commissioners in a released statement. “We wish him well in his new endeavors.”
