Aircraft Crash at St. Mary’s County Airport


CALIFORNIA, Md. (Aug. 9, 2007) - An accident with injuries occurred today at 7:52 a.m. at the St. Mary’s County Airport as a small private aircraft crashed during take-off.

The aircraft was carrying three passengers, one of whom has been airlifted to Baltimore Shock Trauma with Priority 1 injuries.

The airfield at St. Mary’s County airport remains open. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has been notified and will be conducting an investigation.
