MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. - The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

On Wednesday, May 9, 2007 at 7:58 am, Tpr. White responded to Hollywood Road and McIntosh Road in Hollywood for a disorderly subject. Contact was made with the suspect, Steven Wesley Gingery, Jr., 22, of Hollywood and a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was emitting from his breath. Mr. Gingery was yelling obscenities at passing motorists. He was arrested for disorderly conduct and public intoxication. He was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review.

On Wednesday, May 9, 2007 at 10:59 pm, TFC Grimes responded to the 22000 block of Valley Estates Drive in Lexington Park for a reported assault. Contact was made with the complainant who advised after she was assaulted by Michael Lashawn Johnson, 19, of Lexington Park he took her silver Chevrolet Caprice. Mr. Johnson was located later at a residence on Happyland Road in Valley Lee. He was arrested for assault and theft of a motor vehicle and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review.

On Wednesday, May 9, 2007 at 11:15 pm, TFC Linger responded to the 22000 block of Lawrence Avenue in Leonardtown for a reported threat of arson and telephone misuse. Contact was made with the complainant, who advised Paul Anthony Fenwick, 46, of Chaptico had called her several times and left messages threatening her life and was going to burn down her apartment. On May 10, 2007 an arrest warrant was issued and Mr. Fenwick was arrested by TFC Trossbach. He was taken to the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review.

On Thursday, May 10, 2007 at 10:00 pm, TFC Moore responded to the 23000 block of Mervell Dean Road in Hollywood for a reported burglary. Contact was made with the complainant, who advised his house was burglarized and two (2) handguns were stolen from the residence. Investigation continues.

On Friday, May 11, 2007 at 2:02 am, TFC Linger initiated a traffic stop on a brown Ford in the Hickory Hills shopping center for speeding and equipment violation. Contact was made with the driver, Joseph Purnell Pinkney, 19, of Great Mills. A strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was emitting from his breath. During the course of the traffic stop, Mr. Pinkney was arrested for DUI/DWI. He became very combative and was also charged with assault. He was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review.
