St. Mary's County Sheriff's Reports


LEONARDTOWN, Md. - The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Department today released the following incident and arrest reports.

Deputy Robert Merritt charged Steven Randolph Thompson (Age 22 of Lexington Park) with Assault Second Degree. The charged were made by way of Criminal Summons.

Deputy Joseph Somerville charged Donald Reeves Burroughs Jr. (Age 35 of Mechanicsville) with Assault First Degree and Property Destruction. Suspect Burroughs encountered the victim in the driveway of his home during a visitation exchange. The parties are estranged and a verbal disagreement ensued. Suspect Burroughs produced a hammer and began to swing it, striking the vehicle several times. The victim and children escaped the driveway inside the vehicle and contacted police. No physical injuries were observed and the damage to the vehicle was estimated at $2,000.00.

John Richard Kolakowski (Age 48 of California, Md.) was arrested for Failure to Appear by Deputy Earl Young.

Deputy William Rishel began an investigation into the theft of a motorcycle that occurred at a Lexington Park home. The Suspect, Peter Lewis Orazio (Age 18 of Lexington Park) was arrested for the theft and the motorcycle was recovered from a Park Hall neighborhood.

Deputy David Corcoran conducted a vehicle stop in the Lexington Park area for a speed violation. As the occupants were contacted it was found that a 16 year old female from Park Hall was illegally in possession of percocet. There was related paraphernalia also recovered in the form of a pill crusher and straws with residue. The suspect had been crushing and snorting the illegal prescription pills. She was arrested, processed and released to a parent pending a hearing before the Juvenile Court. Additional CDS Violation charges are pending against an adult male. He was found to be in possession of a substance that needed to be tested further before charges would be filed.

Deputy David Goff responded to a Lexington Park residence for a reported theft. Upon arrival he found that the victim had gone away for the weekend and upon returning, he found that his vehicle was stolen. The victim called the police and Deputy Goff continued the investigation. Deputy Goff had found that the victim's vehicle was impounded. Further investigation revealed that the Suspect, Earl Thomas Anderson (Age 18 of Lexington Park) had taken the vehicle without the owners consent. The suspect had been stopped shortly after taking the vehicle by a Deputy Sheriff and charged with operating without a license and released. The victim had not yet reported the vehicle stolen so there was no way for the Deputy to know it had been taken illegally. The vehicle was stored and that is where it remained until the victim reported it missing. The victim is the father of the suspect. Suspect Anderson was charged with Unlawful taking of a Motor Vehicle.

Deputy James Maguire responded to the reported domestic assault. Upon arrival he stated that he observed visible signs of injury to the victim. The suspect, DeWayne Lannell Holt (Age 27 of No Fixed Address) was on the scene and arrested for striking the victim in the face.

Deputy Robert Merritt responded to the reported domestic dispute at a Lexington Park home. Once on the scene he noted the victim was bleeding from the face. His investigation revealed that Suspect Denise Lenora Strain (Age 44 of Lexington Park) struck the victim, her boyfriend, in the face with glass candle holder. The assault caused a laceration to the victim's face. She was arrested and charged with Assault Second Degree.

Robert Charles Tipton (Age 35 of California, Md.) was arrested by Deputy Earl Young for Failure to Appear in the Calvert County District Court. The original charge was theft under $100.00.

George Alexander Armstrong Jr. (Age 26 of Lexington Park) was arrested by Deputy Milton Pesante for two (2) open warrants. The warrants were for Failure to Pay Child Support.

Deputy Keith Moritz charged Thomas Emanuel Gross (Age 21 of Lexington Park) with Attempted Burglary and Property Destruction. The investigation revealed the suspect attempted to gain entry to the victim's home to get back a television set he had purchased for her. She refused and he proceeded to kick the door in, causing damage. Further there was damage to the victim's vehicle which was also contributed to the suspect.

Caroline Melissa Brooks (Age 36 of Lexington Park) valued at $75.00. Deputy Timothy Butler.

Aguirre Santiago Salguero (Age 45 of Great Mills) valued at $33.00. Deputy Margaret Smolarsky.

Barbara Jean Brashears Vanthof (Age 31 of Great Mills) valued at $26.00. Deputy William Rishel.

Christopher Wydel Carrol (Age 39 of Chaptico, Md.) valued at $20.00. Deputy Jason Graves.
