LA PLATA, Md. - The Charles County Sheriff's Department today released the following incident and arrest reports.
STABBING: On March 8 at 12:16 a.m., Charles County Sheriffs officers responded to a residence in the 4200 block of Drake Court in Waldorf for the report of a stabbing. Investigation revealed James Edward Wright IV, 15, of Waldorf, stabbed a family member in the shoulder and fled the scene. The victim, who was sleeping when Wright stabbed him, was transported to Civista Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. Officers canvassed the area throughout the night and at 3:23 a.m., Wright was located on Mockingbird Circle in Waldorf. Officers arrested him and charged him as an adult with attempted first-degree murder. Wright was being held at the Charles County Detention Center pending an appearance before a district court commissioner.
POSSESION OF MARIJUANA: On March 5 at 3:10 a.m., Charles County Sheriffs officers responded to a room in the Waldorf Motel at 2125 Crain Highway in Waldorf for the report of a domestic dispute. Upon arrival, Officer T. Yates detected the smell of burnt marijuana. Investigation revealed Donovan Eric Wilson, 22, of Waldorf was in possession of 14 small plastic bags containing marijuana. Wilson was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. He was being held at the Charles County Detention Center without bond.
