Man Found Dead, Shot in Head, in LP City Tuesday Morning


LEONARDTOWN, Md. - The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Department reported today that a man was found shot in the head in Lexington Park early this morning.

On Tuesday, February 27 at approximately 6:55 a.m., a 911 call was received regarding a male subject slumped over in a vehicle in the parking lot of the apartments on Liberty Street in Lexington Park. Police responded and discovered the victim not breathing and laying patially in his vehicle with what appeared to be a possible gun shot injury to his head.

Investigators from the St. Mary's County Bureau of Criminal Investigations (BCI) responded along with crime lab personnel and are continuing the investigation.

The man was identified as Kenneth James Walters, age 24. Walters reportedly lived in one of the nearby apartments.
