St. Mary's County Sheriff's Reports


LEONARDTOWN, Md. - The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Department today released the following incident and arrest reports.

Sheriff's Office Deputy Kevin Somerville responded to the 911 call for "Property Destruction in Progress". Upon arrival he observed Charlotte Denise Hardy (Age 46 of Waldorf, MD) in the victim's driveway holding a collapsible baton and carrying a folding knife. Suspect Hardy had smashed several windows of the victim's vehicle out as well as caused dents and other damage. She immediately complied with police and dropped the baton and the knife. She was arrested and charged with Property Destruction.

Michael James Benoit (Age 37 of Park Hall) was arrested by Deputy Saltsman on an open warrant. Suspect Benoit owes more than $15,000.00 in restitution from a Felony Theft case. His bond amount was preset.

Deputy Maguire arrested David Hernandez (Age 27 of Lusby, Md) for an outstanding warrant through Prince George's County. The warrant was for Failure to Appear.

Deputies Elizabeth Trossbach and Eric Walker responded to a Mechanicsville bar for the reported fight. Upon arrival they made contact with Suspect George Randall Sams (age 44 of Mechanicsville) and found him to be extremely intoxicated. He refused to cease his disorderly and aggressive actions and a crowd had formed outside. It was determined that Suspect Sams had assaulted another individual inside the establishment before being ordered to leave. His actions outside led to his arrest. He was searched and that revealed a marijuana smoking device. He was charged with Failure to Obey a Lawful Order, Assault Second Degree, Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Paraphernalia.

Deputy Eric Walker received information that a California residence was being utilized to distribute marijuana. Deputies conducted surveillance on the home and made contact with the resident, Suspect David Thomas Herzog (Age 18 of California). After a brief interview a search revealed Marijuana, Hash and almost $700.00 in cash. Numerous charges, to include Possession with intent to Distribute.

Sheila Christine Vernon (Age 38 of No Fixed Address) was arrested by Deputy Harold Young for Disorderly Conduct. Suspect Vernon was shouting profanities in a residential area and refused to cease.

James Patrick Ryan (Age 31 of Hollywood, Md) was arrested on an outstanding warrant through Calvert County for Failure to Appear. The arrest was made by Deputy Timothy Reese.

Angelina Marie Mitchell (Age 23 of No Fixed Address) was involved in a domestic dispute at a Hollywood residence. Suspect Mitchell began throwing items inside the house causing several thousand dollars in damage. She pushed an elderly female during her outburst as well. She was charged with several counts of Property Destruction and Reckless Endangerment.

Jacob Steven Traas (Age 21 of Park Hall) was arrested by Deputy Emory Johnson after a traffic stop revealed he was in possession of marijuana.

Gina Marie Sell (Age 25 of Lexington Park) was arrested by Deputy Todd L. Fleenor for Disorderly Conduct and Failure to Obey a Lawful Order. Suspect Sell was intoxicated and neighbors called when she was shouting profanities in the front yard of her home.

Deputy Kevin Meyer conducted a vehicle stop for speeding on a vehicle that was being operated by Suspect Larry Phillip Shearin (Age 46 of Hollywood). Deputy Meter found that Suspect Sherain had a revoked Maryland Driver's license. A strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was detected and Suspect Sherain had failed the roadside tests. A search incident to the arrest revealed a crack cocaine smoking device on his person.

Charles William Knott (Age 58 of Hollywood, Md.) was arrested after Deputies responded to his home for the domestic assault. Suspect Knott struck the victim with a closed fist in the right side of her head, causing a laceration and rendering her unconscious. She was transported to St. Mary's Hospital where she received stitches for her wound. Suspect Knott was arrested and charged with Second Degree Assault.

Paul Anthony Hamby (Age 21 of Mechanicsville) was arrested by Deputy Elizabeth Trossbach for Failure to Appear.

Thomas Leroy Taylor (Age 47 of Lexington Park) was arrested fro Violation of a Protective Order and Telephone Misuse. The arresting Deputy was Deputy Michael Harrison.

John Albert Toye (Age 51 of Waldorf, Md.) was arrested by Deputy Eric Walker for Contempt of Court.

Charles Aloysius Berry (Age 46 of No Fixed Address) was arrested on a Grand Jury Indictment for Attempted Robbery, Deadly Weapon Violations and Resisting Arrest.
The investigating Deputy was Patrick Handy and the arresting Deputy was Sarah Lacey.

Deputy Elizabeth Trossbach arrested Wayne Mitchell Thomas Jr. (Age 26 of Abell, Md.) for Violation of Probation.

Heather Marie Finstad (Age 21 of Louisburg West Virginia) was arrested by Deputy Timothy Reese for a warrant through the District Court for St. Mary's. The warrant charges several counts of theft.

Charles Henry Hall III (Age 29 of Lusby, Md) was arrested on an open Grand Jury Indictment for Possession of Marijuana with the Intent to Distribute. The arresting Officer was Christopher Byrd and the investigation was conducted by Detectives from the Bureau of Criminal Investigations Narcotics Division.

Mon'a Shawtae Bannister (Age 20 of Callaway) was arrested by Deputy Douglas Harris for Harassment.

David Henry Martin Jr. (Age 37 of Dunkirk, Md.) was arrested by Deputy William Rishel for Violation of Probation.

Troy Dinone Herbert (Age 21 of Leonardtown) was arrested on an open warrant by Deputy James Stone for Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle.

Keith Douglas McNeal (Age 46 of Leonardtown) was arrested on an open Bench Warrant by Deputy Angela Muller.

Carey Duwan Dickerson (Age 31 of Abell) was arrested by Deputy William Rishel for Violation of Probation.

Deputy Eric Walker arrested Brett Andrew Hudson (Age 18 of Avenue, Md) following a vehicle stop. Suspect Hudson was found to be suspended through the State of Maryland. A search incident to that arrest revealed he was also in possession of marijuana.

James Edward Dean (Age 43 of Lusby, Md.) was arrested by Deputy Eva Snyder for Failure to Appear in Calvert County.

Tanya Anita Hall (Age 30 of Lusby Md.) was arrested by Deputy James Fontana for Failure to Appear in the District Court for Charles County.

Mark Anthony Morgan (Age 19 of Mechanicsville) was charged on a Criminal Summons by Deputy Jason Graves for Theft under $100.00. Suspect Morgan stole a bottle of cologne from the victim's home. It was valued at $65.00 and has been recovered and returned.

Laura Ann Thomas (Age 20 of Leonardtown) was charged on a Criminal Summons by Deputy Elizabeth Trossbach with Assault Second Degree. Suspect Thomas was with at least two juveniles who assaulted the victim while she was stopped at a red light.

Darnell Antwann Young (Age 19 of Lexington Park) was charged on a Summons by Deputy Michael George for Distribution of CDS. The Summons was issued by the Charles County Circuit Court.

Deputy Michael Harrison arrested Francis Matthew Scriber (Age 45 of No Fixed Address) on a warrant through the District Court. The warrant was for Trespassing and Theft under $100.00.

Jennifer Lynn Landis (Age 24 of Mechanicsville) was arrested by Deputy Sarah Lacey for Theft Scheme over $500.00, Theft under $100.00 and Theft under $500.00. All of the events took place in Calvert County Maryland.

James Miles Perry Jr. (Age 39 of Lexington Park) was arrested by Deputy Harold Young for Failure to Pay Child Support.

John Odell Mason (Age 45 of Port Republic) was arrested for Failure to Appear by Deputy James Maguire.

Jerrell Raheim Johnson (Age 19 of Lexington Park) was arrested by Deputy Brian Connelly for Trespassing.

Catherine Burnette Davis (Age 46 of Lexington Park) was arrested by Deputy Robert Gill after she was apprehended with more than $200.00 worth of stolen items from a local grocery store.

Deputy Joseph LaBrack conducted a vehicle stop for a traffic violation and identified the operator as Timmie Irvin Wallace (Age 38 of California). The operator was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and a search incident to arrest revealed approximately $120.00 worth of marijuana.
