St. Mary's County Sheriff's Reports


On September 4, 2006, Deputy First Class J. Kirkner responded to a Callaway eatery for the reported disturbance. Once on the scene, Deputy First Class Kirkner found that suspect Ivan Manuel Rivera, age 19 of Great Mills, was an employee of the establishment and had become angry with work related issues. Suspect Rivera destroyed plates, a chair, a wall and lights as he acted on his displeasure. Patrons witnessed the suspect’s destructive behavior. The suspect was arrested and charged with Property Destruction Over $500.00 as the total loss was estimated at $1,170.

On August 31, 2006, Senior Deputy First Class Mark Smith responded to the reported burglary in Bushwood. It was determined that two (2) suspects, Robert Wayne Currie Jr., age 24 of Bushwood, and John Raymond Milburn III, age 26 of Bushwood, had forced their way into the home of the victim, William Leroy Smith, and began to beat him about the face, head and arms. The suspects fled and were apprehended a short distance away by Senior Deputy First Class Smith. The victim had several injuries to his forehead and arms. Both the suspects were charged with Burglary, Assault and Property Destruction.

On September 2, 2006, Senior Deputy First Class Robert Russell responded to a Lexington Park residence for the reported domestic dispute. The victim, Carrie Tyson Elum, age 36, was involved in a verbal dispute with her husband, suspect Terrence R. Elum, age 46. Suspect Terrence Elum struck the victim in the mouth with a closed fist, causing a laceration. Medical treatment was not required. Suspect Elum was arrested for Second Degree Assault.

On September 4, 2006, Deputy Zorana Sipos served a Criminal Summons on Bobby Raymond Davis, age 20 of Lexington Park, for the charge of Confined Unattended Child. Previously, Deputy Sarah Lacey had responded to a California shopping center for the reported unattended child inside a vehicle. Once on the scene, Deputy Lacey found a child, female age 4, was inside the vehicle unattended. The child was able to provide her name and the store into which the suspect went. A few minutes later the suspect emerged. It was confirmed that he was shopping while the child was left alone. The suspect is awaiting a Preliminary Hearing before the District Court.

On September 5, 2006, Deputy Shawn Moses was investigating a theft of two (2) Honda dirt bikes. A location of one of the stolen dirt bikes was discovered and it was located at a Callaway residence. Suspect Wayne Lamont Jordan, age 33 of Morganza, was arrested and charged with Theft Over $500.00 and Theft of a Motor Vehicle. The value of the dirt bike was $3,800.00.
