St. Mary’s County Government Begins Sunday Bus Service

The St. Mary’s County government today announced that the St. Mary’s Transit System (STS) is now providing Sunday Bus Service in the Great Mills and California areas. This route will operate just like the existing Saturday and Evening Great Mills to California Bus Route.

According to Mr. Geroge Erichsen, Director of the Department of Public Works and Transportation, “The Department of Social Services was very instrumental and supportive in securing additional grant funding to make this become a reality. The expansion of the job access reverse commute program will help ensure that individuals that want to work have a way to get there. Over 47,000 passengers took advantage of the program last year, and we owe this success to the support of the Board of County Commissioners and our Transportation Division staff that work very hard to make it all happen.”

The new STS service will operate on Sundays from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., beginning at Tulagi Place in Lexington Park, traveling north on MD Rt. 235 to the 1st Colony Shopping Center, then south on MD Rt. 235 onto MD 237-Chancellors Run Road, to MD 246-Great Mills Road and returning back to Tulagi Place.
