Waldorf Bank Robbed by Old Timer


On August 12, 2006 at 10:20 a.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to Maryland Bank & Trust located at 3175 Leonardtown Road in Waldorf for the report of a bank robbery. The investigation revealed that the suspect approached a teller, implied he had a weapon and demanded money. The teller complied and the suspect fled the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

There were five bank employees and one customer in the bank at the time of the robbery. None of the bank’s employees or the customer was injured.

The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 60 years of age, balding with gray hair and tattoos on his forearms. He was wearing a white button short sleeve shirt.

The surveillance cameras in the bank captured this photograph of the robbery and suspect. Anyone with information or who recognizes the suspect is asked to contact Det. J. Elliott of the Criminal Investigation Division at 301-609-6515.
