Armed Car-Jacking in Waldorf

On Aug. 10 at 4:28 a.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to the parking lot in front of a residence in the 5300 block of Halibut Place in Waldorf for the report of a carjacking. The investigation revealed that the victim, a 20-year-old Waldorf man, unlocked his vehicle using the keyless remote as he was walking to it. When he opened the driver’s side door, he noticed the suspect standing in the open passenger side door. The suspect brandished a handgun and demanded the vehicle’s keys. The victim complied and the suspect fled the scene in the victim’s gray 1996 Chevrolet Blazer.

The suspect is described as a black male between 20 and 25 years old. He was wearing a black T-shirt and had a white cloth covering his mouth and nose. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Charles County Sheriff’s Office at 301-932-7777. Officer C. Gass is investigating.
