Charles County Seeks Nominations for Maryland's "Most Beautiful People" Volunteer Awards


The awards honor the unsung heroes who generously volunteer their time, energy and talents to help make Charles County a better place to live, work, and visit

LA PLATA, MD - The Charles County Office of Tourism, in conjunction with the Charles County Commissioners, the Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development, and the Governor's Office, announced that they are accepting nominations through Monday, August 28, 2006, for the 20th Annual Maryland's "Most Beautiful People" Volunteer Awards Program. These awards honor the unsung heroes who generously volunteer their time, energy and talents to help make Charles County a better place to live, work, and visit.

All nominees will be publicly recognized by the County Commissioners at a special ceremony and reception to be held in October. One nominee will be selected to represent the County at a Statewide dinner in Baltimore on November 2, 2006. This dinner will be held for the first time in partnership with Maryland Life Magazine.

Nomination forms can be obtained at local public libraries, from the Charles County Visitor's Center at 9 Washington Avenue in La Plata, or by clicking on http://www.charlescounty.org/commissioners/pio/MdMostBeautifulNominationForm.pdf.

All completed nomination forms should be sent to "Maryland You are Beautiful," Charles County Office of Tourism, PO Box 2150, La Plata, MD 20646. Deadline for nominations is Monday, August 28, 2006. Nominees must be residents of Charles County.
