Drug & DUI Arrests by MSP Charles County


POSSESSION OF CDS: 06/17/06 2:02 a.m. The driver of a vehicle stopped at the traffic light on northbound U.S. Rt. 301 at Mattawoman Drive was observed not wearing his seat belt. Upon contact with the driver, William Kenneth Briley 3rd, 30 years, of Temple Hills, the odor of an alcoholic beverage was observed on his breath. When Mr. Briley exited the vehicle, a clear baggie containing seven individually wrapped baggies of suspected marijuana was observed in the vehicle. Mr. Briley was arrested and a search incident to arrest revealed another baggie containing four individually wrapped baggies of suspected marijuana and a large amount of U.S. currency on his person. He also failed field sobriety tests. Mr. Briley was charged with possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving under the influence of alcohol. He was incarcerated in the Charles County Detention Center pending a bond review. TFC R. Lemerise and Tpr. J. Wiersma conducted this investigation.

POSSESSION OF CDS: 06/17/06 2:52 p.m. The driver of a vehicle that was sitting on the shoulder of MD Rt. 205, north of Sub-Station Road, was approached to see if he needed assistance. The driver, James Roland Presley III, 39 years, of Mechanicsville, showed signs of impairment. Mr. Presley failed field sobriety tests and was arrested. A search incident to arrest revealed a quantity of pills, suspected Suboxone (morphine) and drug paraphernalia. Mr. Presley was arrested and charged with possession of CDS, not marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving while impaired. Tpr. R. Garrett conducted this investigation.

POSSESSION OF CDS: 06/19/06 1:24 a.m. A vehicle traveling northbound on Old Washington Road, north of MD Rt. 5, was stopped for speeding. Upon contact with the driver, the odor of burnt marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. A probable cause search of the vehicle revealed suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. A passenger in the vehicle, Daryl Phillip Bolden, 21 years, of White Plains, admitted to owning the marijuana. Mr. Bolden was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was incarcerated in the Charles County Detention Center pending a bond review. TFC R.
