BCI Executes Cocaine Arrest


Detectives from the Bureau of Criminal Investigations Narcotics Division located Julius Andrew Fenwick operating his vehicle in the Lexington Park area. Suspect Fenwick was the target of a several month investigation that began during September, 2005. As the investigation continued, Suspect Fenwick sold crack cocaine to an undercover police officer.

At the time of the stop, Suspect Fenwick's vehicle was search and located was a quantity of crack cocaine with a street value of approximately $800.00 and a small amount of marijuana.

The vehicle was seized related to the distribution of the controlled dangerous substance and Suspect Fenwick was arrested. He was charged with Possession with intent to distribute, three (3) counts of distribution and possession of marijuana. He is being held in the St. Mary’s County Detention Center awaiting a bail hearing before the District Court Commissioner.

The St. Mary’s County Bureau of Criminal Investigations (BCI) is an investigative team comprised of Detectives from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office and the Maryland State Police, Leonardtown Barrack. The unit was established on July 1, 2003 and is based in Leonardtown, Maryland.
