Man Seeks Oxycotin in Attempted Robbery at Waldorf Walgreens

On March 6 at 2:40 p.m., Charles County Sheriff's officers responded to Walgreens at 25 High Street in Waldorf for the report of an attempted armed robbery. Investigation revealed a male suspect entered the store, walked to the pharmacy and placed a brown paper bag on the countertop. The suspect ordered an employee, a 25-year-old Alexandria, Va., man, to place Oxycotin in the bag or risk being shot. Another employee realized a robbery was occurring and called for help. The suspect fled the store and was last seen on foot heading toward St. Ignatius Drive. He did not steal any property and nobody was injured.

The suspect is described as a white man between 25 and 30 years old and between 160 and 180 pounds. He was wearing a black mask, black gloves, jeans, white sneakers and a blue, hooded fleece. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Charles County Sheriff's Office at 301-609-6514. Det. K. Moody is investigating.
