On Feb. 20 at approximately 3 p.m., a citizen discovered a racial comment spray painted on Walter J. Mitchell Elementary School located at 400 Willow Lane in La Plata. The citizen notified the Sheriff's Office. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Sheriff's Office at 301-932-2222. Officer D. Baker is investigating.
