Waldorf Traffic Stop Nets Marijuana Arrest


On Feb. 1 at 11:30 p.m., Officer Y. Austin conducted a traffic stop a Lincoln Town Car in the 3200 block of Leonardtown Road in Waldorf because the driver was not wearing a seatbelt. When the officer approached the driver, he smelled an odor of marijuana. A search of the vehicle revealed the driver was in possession of marijuana and paraphernalia. The driver, Marcus Jordan Jones, 20, of Waldorf, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to wear a seatbelt. He is being held at the Charles County Detention Center pending an appearance before the District Court Commissioner.
