Burglary & Vehicle Crash in Charles County


BURGLARY: Sometime between 5:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Jan. 25, suspect(s) threw a rock through the window of a side door on a residence in the 4300 block of Creeds Mill Place in Marbury and gained entry into the residence. Once inside, the suspect(s) stole a shotgun and a PlayStation 2 from a bedroom and fled the scene. A neighbor reported seeing a suspicious vehicle in the area between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m., but police are unsure if it is related to the burglary. The vehicle is described as a small, green, newer-model passenger car. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Charles County Sheriff's Office at 301-743-2222. Officer R. Gilroy is investigating.

MOTOR VEHICLE CRASH: On Jan. 24 at 3:08 p.m., a 2005 Toyota Corolla driven by Joan Marguerite Goggi, 83, of White Plains attempted to turn left onto St. Patrick's Drive from Smallwood Drive West in Waldorf but failed to yield the right of way to a Ford E250 traveling east on Smallwood Drive West. The driver of the Ford, Monte J. Tasker, 48, of La Plata, was not injured but Goggi sustained incapacitating injuries. She was flown by a Maryland State Police helicopter to Prince George's Hospital Center. Officer J. Cooney is investigating.
